Nigeria goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has debunked reports he is not willing to represent his country again.
Uzoho came under intense criticism after he committed a blunder in Nigeria’s 1-1 home draw against eternal rivals, Ghana in a 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs in March.
The Omonia Nicosia of Cyprus goalie allowed Thomas Partey’s long range effort to slip through his hand early in the first half.
Although, the Super Eagles rallied back with defender William Troost-Ekong equalising from the penalty spot, they were eliminated on away goal rule.

There were reports in the media on Monday that Uzoho, who was left out of Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador has quit international football.
The former Deportivo La Coruna star has however pour cold water on the speculation.
“ I’m committed to playing for my dear country anytime I’m called up,”Uzoho told the Super Eagles media team.
The 23-year-old has 18 caps for the Super Eagles.

It’s like most of you in this forum did not hear that during the half time break Uzoho refused to come into the pitch for the second half of the game against Ghana in Abuja. They had to beg him.
Imagine what local goalkeepers face during league matches and having to still come back and keep for there teams. Liverpool goalkeeper messed up twice in this last season but they kept faith with him.
Dennis Onyango who was once the best goalkeeper in Africa has serious issues with long range shots a la Okoye against Tunisia but the vociferousnreess of Nigerian Twitter and Instagram fans will not allow them to rest. UZOHO pls get over it and come back, it’s very difficult for tall goalkeepers to handle ground shots except this new U20 Nathaniel Nwosu who is doing well and besides the players let you down because the Ghanaians outnumbered the Eagles prior to the goal and OUR OWN did not even know when the Black Stars made personnel adjustments.
Uzoho is stilll my number one keeper any till now.
Some of those people that are blaming him can’t keep a football shot from a primary school student.
