Watford Boss Munoz Hails Success Wonder Goal Vs Swansea

Xisco Munoz felt Isaac Success’s wonder goal in Watford’s 2-0 win over Swansea was reward for the effort he has put in since returning from injury.

The Nigerian striker was out for over a year and took a while to adapt to life in the Championship following his return.

However, the Hornets’ boss remained patient with the striker and was delighted that he, and fellow striker Andre Gray, were able to finish the season with a goal each.

“Everybody knows about the quality of Isaac,” said Munoz.

“I think Isaac is a very good player. He had bad luck because he was out for one year with an injury. After he came back, and it’s important that everyone understands the process when a player is out for a long time without playing.

“I know that he worked very hard in all the days to arrive in this situation and I’m very happy we closed the season with a goal for Gray and a goal for Isaac because they work very hard, always for these moments.”

Success’s goal was his first since January 2019 when he scored in an FA Cup win against Newcastle United.

Asked if the Nigerian had shown a lot of promise at the training ground, the head coach joked: “He is very good in training – I don’t know if the training ground goals are bigger!”

Munoz then added: “I’m very happy with him because I know what is his effort to arrive today in this situation.”

  • Please Munoz consider success for your EPL campaign…I know you will have a war chest to buy players from all over the world but please remember that success has EPL experience and he is also young and has room to improve…I see success being the surprise package of 21/22 EPL season….please do as I have pleaded with you and you will thank me later.

We know that guys like Osimhen, Sadiq, Moffi, Onuachu, Simy, Ugbo, Maja and co make up the pool of players from which Rohr will select his strikers.
However, I firmly believe that an in form Isaac Success is also included in that list of possibles. His talent is undeniable.
But for that to happen, Success needs plenty of game time.
Here’s wishing him an injury-free adventure in the top flight next season.

    • Amen to your prayers @pompei…Issac is a gem, got carried away with little fame and money, women too.. Hopefully he is back to his senses and can see what his compatriots, Iheancho, Awoniyi and younger ones like Osimhen are doing… We are about to witness an era of unprecedented acceleration in Nigerian football, honestly I don’t envy Rohr…
