Inter Miami star Lionel Messi has cited fatigue as the reason why he skipped the MLS All-Stars game.
Messi missed last week Wednesday’s match in Austin, Texas, where the MLS squad posted a 3-1 win against Mexico’s Liga MX All-Stars.
As a result, the Argentina star was suspended for a game by the MLS body.

Messi has admitted struggling with his fitness upon his return from suspension, as he criticized Major League Soccer for “not letting him compete.”
“I was in a bit of a drag at the start,” Messi commented after his team’s victory, in which he provided two assists. “I was playing regularly, but the other day they didn’t let me play. And I felt it today, especially in the first half.”
Messi added, “Not playing the other day, even though it may seem positive at first glance, is worse for me, because I need the competition. Physically, I feel better as I play matches and find my rhythm.”
