Bayer Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface could miss the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations due to injury.

According to camp sources, Boniface sustained a muscle injury in training, but the extent is not known yet.

Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen and Real Sociedad’s Umar Sadiq are the only fit strikers in the squad at the moment.

The other striker in the team, Kelechi Iheanacho is also struggling to be fit for the AFCON.

Boniface made his debut for the Super Eagles against Sao Tome and Principe in September.

He has featured five times for the three-time African champions.

THE COACH SHOULD NOT FEEL RELUCTANT TO REPLACE ANY INJURY PLAYERS IN TIME. ANY PLAYERS THAT HAS MINOR INJURY HAVE BECOME HALF-FITTED PLAYER. AND THEY SHOULD BE REPLACE BY FITTED ONE BY NOT WASTING TIME OR FEEL RELUCTANT.
WE HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH GOOD PLAYERS

Lol! Our coach is nothing but a bag of shit! Super Eagles will be disgrace by smaller teams at this coming Afcon, Paseiro has nothing to offer us. Former NFF president must prosecuted for hiring a dumb ass coach for the Super Eagles.

We have Amaju Pinnick and Segun Odegbami to thank for making it possible for us to have this clueless ass coach in charge of the Eagles.

The coach should swiftly bring in Nwakali for boniface. Going by the lack of creativity In midfield.

Nwakali shouldn’t even be in the list of 50 players not to talk of replacing Boniface.

Nwakali is a schoolboy player. He can’t even maintain his 2nd Lillge club position to talk of playing in AFCON. Look folks, sorry to break your hearts, Nigeria is not going anywhere without Gift Orban, as simple as that. Allow me to say it again, without Orban, Nigeria will certainly return home after suffering the ‘humiliation of the decade’ at the group stage. Believe me. We have Uzohobasket as the goalkeeper, we have a coach who is the worst coach in the World football, and we have ye-ye NFF who extremely corrupt. How are you going to beat Avery Coast at home at the group stage? Please, forget it.

The corrupt NFF and coach Paseiro will pay dearly for selecting the 25-man list for Nigeria, and they are witnessing that now.

How could you do that as coach listening to the NFF that knows nothing about football.

NFF deceived the gaffer by putting words into his mouth, and the coach accepted that.

Nacho is not guaranteed he will make it to Ivory Coast. Now, Boniface is injured.

If I were you, Oga Paseiro, I would call one midfielder and one striker, which happened to be Dessers and Nwakali.

Nwakali and Dessers should replace Nacho and Boniface. The current NFF should be scrap after the Afcon, and Paseiro should not continue as a Super Eagles coach. I wish Boniface and Naco a quick recovery. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

That’s why he needs a full 27 team

      God of Moffi dey ginger

I would bring in Moffi, Dele Bashiru, Tella and Nwakali ( standby)

      Iheanacho too is injured

      • Sly on January 8, 2024 6:54 pm

Time for 27 players according to CAF has since passed. All teams have released squad lists too. The only one remaining is replacing injured players but at most 24 hours to a team’s first match.

Heaven knows if super eagles call me up to replace a player, I will tell my club to pretend not to see the invitation.

Xabi Alonso would be glad at least Tella didn’t make the cut. Boniface should just go back to Germany although he might still wait for 2 more weeks because this team should only play group games and return to their clubs.

Something is just working against this team. Three key players injured and out!!!! Not too good.

I wanted to use this afcon to assess Boniface. Too bad. Well let’s just enjoy this tournament. We hope for the best.

But I won’t forgive nff and pesero if they don’t handle this situation very well.

If nacho and Boniface are injured replace them asap. Desser and nwakali.

Desser is a better goal scorer than moffi.

I have always said scoring goals is a major problem with this team. The report of the friendly confirm this again.

They don’t convert chances. So we are not leveraging our strong points to achieve success.

We can’t even score penality. Oshimen and nacho are the ones bailing the team out. Both were not there today.

When is this sodiq going to become the golden boy for eagles. It was the same at the last afcon.

This is what happens when you use favoritism and national interest to choose players. We have a long way to go.

Invite this invite that they have invited Yusuf xavi midfielder yet we lost now you people are still clamoring of Moffi what a nonsense country, country football is different from club football Nigeria will never understand it for me half fit Etebo is better than Yusuf, onyidika, frank onyeka and so on ,oldman ighalo is better than all our strikers exception of osihmen,Balogun is better than all our defenders,Chidera Ejuke can create for us but Nigeria will prefer a player that can not dribble one on one but anyway hopefully Nigeria will surprise us all

Too late to withdraw from Afcon???? Everything is in shambles now and it all started when Pinnick decided to impose this fraud on us and then cashed out with his loot.

Shambles, cry me a river, mate. Onuachu should be called without delay. He is the quintessential iroko tree with roots of shots and hand branches of powerful headers. To be honest it’s a travesty that Onuachu was overlooked in the original list of 25.

At this time the coach should ģet sense he should pair lookman and oshimen in attack. He can invite a winger like tella and dessar to replace both injured players

Chaii!! Nigerians are such extremely strange and funny human beings.

Imagine the suggestions being made! Absolutely Unbelievable!!

Only the (fake) man above has said anything that is even close to sensible! The ghanaian calling himself John not that blasted monky yansh madman lol

That ghana man John made the best suggestion above which was – bring in Moffi, Dele Bashiru and Tella to replace the injuries (for now)

As for after the AFCON – heads really must roll Chaii! – NFF disbanded! Keep the current head man Gusau – I don’t know but I am getting good vibes from him, maybe if he has decent and honest people, not the corrupt criminals currently there around him, I think he can be an upstanding guy from a few of the things I’ve seen from him so far.
Peserio MUST be shown the DOOR! regardless of anything that happens! (Even if by some absolute miracle of the Most High!)- because any entity that can be callous and heartless enough to foist that CALAMITY FRANK on a nation of football lovers, especially one like Nigeria which has nothing else, ZERO joy or anything to be upbeat about is a very dangerous and cutthroat individual indeed, and all those who are still advocating for calamity along with him!

Finally – after the AFCON we need to put a new team together (of serious individuals with our best interests at heart mind) and start the intentional and painstaking task of putting together an SE’s worthy of representing the most populous and blessed Country in Africa – Nigeria!

Mehn- this should be easy to do as long as we have a group of upstanding, morally sound men (and women pkaapka) who have honour and integrity and love our beloved country like many of us on here and the general population do – who will do the very simple task of inviting our best legs and put 100% effort into scouting our eligible players all around the world to extend invitations to them, and improve how we run these things, organise our football infrastructure and acquit ourselves to the highest standards – leave no stones unturned in ensuring that playing for and representing Nigeria becomes something worthy and highly beneficial for those skillful and blessed enough to be able to do so – In short clean up our house! Out with the old and in with the new, because all this jagbajantis is very boring, extremely tiresome and totally shameful!!

Nigeria should withdraw from this AFCON. It may turn out to be the worst AFCON Nigeria ever attended. Humiliations is awaiting the Nation.

Ugo, I won’t lie to you, Musa is still a worthy professional. Age ain’t nothing but a number. You know Rabiu Ali? He is still playing for Kano Pillars at the ripe age of 42.

Ahmed Musa is just 31 so, like Rabiu Ali, he can play for another 11 years for club and country. If you are angry right now, how will you feel in 6 years’ time if Musa makes the list of Super Eagles World Cup squad, after all he will only be 37 (which is younger than Onome Ebi who went to the Women’s World Cup at the age of 40).

Musa is still young my man. Giroud, Messi and Ronaldo are far younger than him.

Just fall back in love with Musa and you will find the peace of mind that has evaded your analysis.

        One love.

          @deo bros

I am sorry but I am incosolable I warned you people to stop Cheering Musa’s Invite we needed to band together to voice his unmeritted captaincy of the team no one will listen now look we just have to admit we brought this on ourself you think Ndidi and Boniface injury is normal?… No this tournament started on a bad foot with Musa’s name on that list and bad karma.

A prophet said it for as long as Musa name keep appearing in SE list Nigeria football will go nowhere

I Told you people Ahmed Musa Presence is bad Luck and will bring bad luck to this team no no Listens. Instead of us banding Together to Voice our Displeasure about his Constant Invite People Will Say his experience is Valuable lol

IF WE WANT MEDIOCRE THE FOOTBALL GODS WILL GIVE US MEDIOCRE.

WITH NDIDI AND BONIFACE OUT OUR TOURNAMENT IS OVER YOU PEOPLE SHOULD SAY WHAT YOU LIKE NIGERIA’S TOURNAMENT IS OVER BEFORE IT STARTED AND THANKS TO AHMED MUSA FOR THAT.

Musa should have stopped being capped yrs ago and definitely after 2022 now we are in 2024 okay naHHHHHHH!

Since I saw Musa’s name on the afcon roster I lost interest in the super eagles.
Apparently, have shifted my attention to the youth teams.
However,I wish the super eagles a good tournament but I am not Interested henceforth until Musa retires from the super eagles.
I will focus my energy on the youth teams for now.

If it is true that Boniface will be out then Onuachu (hmm, hmm – Larry and Golden Child) should be drafted without delay.

This Iroko tree has timbers of goals running through his branches. Just imagine the combo of Onuachu and Osihmen, our opponents will be wetting their pants at the sight of those two gladiators.

A few players get injured and the whole country is thrown into pandemonium… When we tell them to call up players based on form they will use tribalism and quota system.

Why is everyone panicky now? Is Thunder Balogun Diego Ahmed Musa not there to score our goals again? We want to win tournament yet continue to lie to ourselves.

You keep a Leon Balogun away from the team for speaking up against unpaid allowances, you wedge Chuba Akpom back in Amsterdam, a guy with an eye and a nose for his goals, now a key player for a top team like Ajax. You keep Kepechi Nwakali outside the team because your prefer a dead and lethargic non-midfieder Joe Aribo… Lastly you keep out a goal poacher in Onuachu for a donkey like Sadiq Umar.

Wailing never start… We won’t make quarterfinal even if we manage scale group stage… na wickedness and tribalism go kill us for Nigeria. A gworo-chewer like Gusau is NFF chairman in country with people like Mike Emenalo… God punish Nigeria.

My brother, feel your pain, not really surprised with all that is going on. When you have an organization that survives on lies and deceit, honestly you can’t get anything. The country is doomed. You have competent players, but yet you decide to select incompetent players to go for a major tournament. It’s not too late to draft Dessers, Onuachu, Nwakali, Balogun, Moffi, Akpom etc

@JimmyBall we as Nigerians just seem not to understand a simple fact the cailbre of the Injuries is not good Players like Osimhen, Ndidi, Boniface count as two players in one and we have lost 2 of those it is equivalent to losing 4 players in our rooster. these players if injured will cause trouble in thier squad. like De Bruyne and Haaland getting injured is the same if any 3 of these players get Injured with Ndidi Boniface, Osimhen and Bassey these are the players Nigeria cannot afford to get injured. and boom 2 are down.

I predicted this. I said Boniface, Osimhen and Lookman should stay behind because they have a good thing going on and the club team needs them most. Especially Boniface with Bayer Leverkusen being in 1st place in Germany. Players always come out injured playing for Nigeria, its nothing new.

This is my previous comment on the squad release:
Osimhen and Boniface should of stayed with their club. Especially boniface, bayer Leverkusen is leading and with his presence gone I wouldnt be surprised if they fall. Cant risk a good thing for mediocrity and going through challenges. And watch them go back to their club injured like always
