The decision came after Tunisia lost a penalty shootout 3-2 to 10-man Mali on Saturday after the match finished 1-1 after extra time.
Trabelsi, 57, was relieved of his duties just hours after the final whistle.
He had been appointed in February 2025 and recently guided Tunisia to qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
