Former Nigerian goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph has commended the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on the appointment of Finidi George as an assistant coach of the Super Eagles.
Finidi was a member of the Super Eagles that won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia,, where Nigeria defeated Zambia 2-1 in the final.
Finidi’s, who is the current head coach of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Enyimba, was approved for the Eagles job on Thursday by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The former Nigerian winger will work with the yet to announce Super Eagles gaffer as the second assistant coach while erstwhile head coach of the team Salsu Yusuf will act as the first assistant coach.
In a chat with Completesports.com, Dosu stated that the NFF has done the right thing by appointing Finidi.
He also believed that his inclusion will add more value to the Super Eagles and that the players in Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) may have the chance to be part of the team.
“It is a pleasant news to know that Finidi’s George has been appointed by the NFF as Super Eagles assistant coach,” the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist told Completesports.com.
“His experience will come handy for the team knowing fully that he has done a good job with Enyimba in the NPFL.
“I am happy with his appointment and I wish him success on his new job with the senior national team.”

BEFORE FINIDI BE GIVEN ASSISTANCE COACH, NFF WOULD HAVE GIVEN HIM EITHER U-20 OR U-23 COACHING JOB. SO FROM THERE, NIGERIA WILL ABLE TO ACCESS HIM, KNOW HIS COACHING PHILOSOPHY, HIS PATTERN OF PLAY AND OTHERS. BUT NOW, HOW CAN NIGERIA KNOW WHETHER HE DESERVE THE OFFER OR CAPABLE OF OFFERING ANY FORM ASSISTANCE IN THE TEAM OR CAPABLE OF HANDLING THE TEAM.
THAT IS THE SAME PROBLEMS HAPPENED TO JOSEPH YOBO. INSTEAD OF YOBO TO FOCUS MORE ON HIS COACHING ASSIGNMENT, HE PREFER TO FOCUS ON FASHION MODELLING.

AND THAT SHOWS THAT IT IS THOSE ASSISTANCES THAT MAKES EQUAVOEN SUCCEEDED IN 2006 AFCON. BECAUSE THEN AFTER, EQUAVOEN FAILED WOEFULLY IN OTHERS ENDEAVOURS(lose against Guinea in 2010, fail to qualify beyond group stage of U-23 AFCON, fail in 2nd round of 2022 AFCON).

Since Picnic came, he has placed most coaches on part time and that is why Finidi will combine his Enyimba work with the assistant role.
In the past all assistant coaches were paid by Nigerian govt. As it is only the Head coaches are on full salary the rest are win bonuses.
Picnic has destroyed the U 23 team by never appointing a sole coach for the team since he came. Posterity will judge his leadership style and the deprivation of coaches their due rewards. Using a UK formula for the Nigerian national teams is a GOOF.

All these are wastes of time, this shows how ineptitude these people are. I mean, who does this? A bunch of assistants were appointed when its not clear who is gonna be the head coach.
Football Federation has no business appointing assistant coaches. Coaches come with or choose their assistants, then FA could suggest, and the coach can accept or reject.
All these is what comes with the negotiation.
