Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Santi Canizares has tipped Barcelona’s Joan Garcia as Spain’s future number one goalkeeper.
The Spanish international joined the Catalan club this summer after his impressive display last season for Espanyol.

“Today there’s no reason to change the Spanish national team’s goalkeeping. Coach Luis de la Fuente is doing very well.
“Let the talent that I am supposing Joan Garcia has be demonstrated with facts, and then decisions will have to be made.
“I think it’s obvious that this will fall by its own weight. If Joan García (24 years old and 1.91 m) continues with this progression, the talent he has, for me, surpasses that of the other three goalkeepers currently in the national team (Unai Simón, David Raya, Álex Remiro or Robert Sánchez).”
