Former Spain head coach Roberto Moreno says his relationship with Paris Saint Germain manager Luis Enrique is no more cordial.
Moreno, who was Enrique’s assistant with Spain, stated that their relationship broke down when Enrique had to leave the national team due to personal issues and Moreno was put in charge.
“It was impossible to talk to him. I spoke indirectly with his psychologist because it was impossible to talk to him. I said it was something I was only going to do if he gave the go-ahead. And he gave it.

“I know things, but I’m not going to say them because third parties told me them and I want to respect them. Let everyone interpret what they want. I have realised that the story is much stronger than the truth many times.
“I went to his house after the unfortunate death of his daughter and I told him that what I had said publicly I was going to fulfill. He told me he wasn’t counting on me anymore that I would never train with him again.
“They tried to present me as an ogre, as someone who wanted to stay at all costs,” he says in an interview with former footballer Mario Suáreaz.
“Very ugly things were published about how I hadn’t gone to see him at that time, when what we really did was respect everything he told us. On a personal level it was very hard.”
