Algerian coach Vladimir Petkovic has disclosed that Morocco have a slight advantage to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title.
Petkovic, who will be hoping to qualify Algeria from Group E, which consists of Sudan, Burkina Faso, and Equatorial Guinea, told Cafonline that six teams are capable of also winning the tournament.
“It is always difficult to say, because this competition produces many surprises. Côte d’Ivoire’s recent victory is proof of that.
“For this AFCON, Morocco have a slight advantage: they are playing at home and are coming off an excellent World Cup. But at least five or six teams can legitimately aim for the title.

“African football is of a very high level. African players have nothing to envy European players or teams. It shows the quality and competitiveness of the continent.
Petkovic also stated that Algeria are in a group that is very competitive.
It’s an interesting and very competitive group. All three teams have different styles. We saw at the last AFCON that surprises are always possible.
“We will therefore have to respect every opponent, remain humble, but also be proud of who we are and rely on our own values.
