Akwa United have confirmed that no fewer than nine players have been shown the exit door as the club strengthens the squad ahead of the resumption of the second stanza of the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League (NNL), Completesports.com reports.
The second stanza of the season begins this weekend across the country after the mid-season break.

Akwa United are in Group B of the NNL.
Among those considered surplus to requirements are Anietie Uko, Erikan Francis, Lazarus Ebuka, Itebu James and Joshua Unoro.
Others are Babatunde Omosebi, Onhanedo Onyedikachi, Emenike John and Emmanuel Ita.
Checks reveal that Anietie Uko has moved to Tanzania with a potential deal with Mbeya Kwanza, while Erikan Francis has joined Heartland FC on loan.
