Arrangements are in top gear by double accord organisation to stage this year’s Asiwaju under 17 football championship billed for November 15, 2024 in lagos
57 football clubs from the 20 local government and 37 local council development area of lagos State will compete for honours in the under 17 grassroots football tournament that will be played at different centers across the five divisions of Lagos State namely ikorodu, badagry, Ikeja ,Lagos Island and epe
The tournament is aimed to avail the players a platform to showcase their God’s given talent and engage them positively there by taking their minds of social vices
Organiser of the championship Samuel Abikoye said The tournament is also to honor president Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his immense contributions towards the growth of sports in Nigeria
” We are greatful to President Bola Tinubu for keeping fate with the sponsorship of this championship.
“ As I speak to you now clubs have all registered and commence training ahead of the competition. Inspection on fields where this games hold has been carried out so we are fully ready to host a befitting tournament,” he said.
Abikoye adds that the ultimate goal is to discover and nurture young footballers who will become worthy ambassadors for Lagos State and nigeria
The 57 club will play in the preliminaries which will be decided by a league format that will produce eight teams for the quarter, semi and final that will be played at the Campos mini stadium Lagos Island
