Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven admits has identify former Barcelona legend, Carles Puyol as his role model.
The Dutchman has impressed onlookers with his speed, technical prowess and ability to read the game, making him a perfect modern-day centre-back.
In a chat on the Overlap, van de Ven admitted he idolises Puyol, widely considered as one of the best defenders to play for Barcelona in the 21st century.

“My idol is Carles Puyol, he always has been.
“He was an elite player, a true leader at Barcelona. He wasn’t even that tall for a central defender, but he always headed corners and scored a lot of goals.
“He was a great player, he had a lot of strength. I liked the way he conducted himself on the pitch. He was the captain, simply, he was.”
