Liverpool are reported to be lining up a pre-deadline swoop for Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir. The transfer window in England is due to close at 5pm on Thursday and Liverpool could be about to add to their ranks with Cakir said to be high on boss Jurgen Klopp’s wanted list.
Current number two Simon Mignolet will be allowed to leave to go in search of the regular first-team football he craves, and Cakir could be drafted in as his replacement.
The 23-year-old is very highly rated in Turkey and has just earned his first cap for the national side when featuring against Greece. Cakir would have to settle for playing second fiddle to Reds number one Alisson, but it is thought he would still jump at the chance of a move to Anfield if the opportunity presented itself.
