Real Madrid star Trent Alexander-Arnold has described Federico Valverde as the most underrated player in the world.
He made this known on the backdrop of his impressive hat-trick against Manchester City in Wednesday’s first leg of the Champions League round of 16 at the Santiago Bernabéu.
Speaking after the game, Alexander-Arnold, in a chat with the club’s website, believes Valverde may now start getting the credit he deserves.

“I sang his praises a few weeks ago, but again, running out of words to describe him. He’s the most underrated footballer on the planet, and has been for years, but even before I came here, I always admired his game, because there’s no flaw in him.
‘When you have played with him you understands how much he gives to the team, he covers every blade of grass, he gives his all.
‘As a player, the best attribute you can have is that your teammates can always count on you and he is always there, he never lets us down.
‘Maybe people might start talking about him now but for many years he has been in that top bracket of midfielders’
