2022 WAFU B: Golden Eaglets To Face Burkina Faso In Final

    James AgberebiBy James AgberebiJune 21, 2022Updated:June 21, 202263 Comments1 Min Read

The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria will take on Burkina Faso in the final of the WAFU B U-17 tournament on Friday.

In the second semi-final played on Tuesday Burkina Faso edged hosts Ghana 1-0, courtesy of a second half penalty converted by Ousamane Camara.

After a goalless first half, the deadlock was finally broken in the 64th minute after Burkina Faso were awarded a penalty which Camara converted.

The second semi-final result means both Burkina Faso and the Golden Eaglets will be at next year’s U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria.

In the first semi-final decided earlier on Tuesday, the Golden Eaglets came from 1-0 down to beat Côte d’Ivoire 3-1.

Yan Diomandi had given the Ivorians the lead just two minutes into the game from the penalty spot.

But two well taken free-kicks from Emmanuel Michael saw the Nigerians go into the break 2-1 ahead.

And in the second half Abdullahi Idris headed in a set piece to put his side 3-1 ahead.

I feel so bad for my wonderful Ghanaian neighbors. I was tempted to support Ghana because of Nigeria’s cruelty against them in youth and women’s football; I am almost embarrassed to be a Nigeria fan right now :).

What else does Ghana now have to look forward to in 2023 after the Qatar World Cup?

      – Under 17 Afcon. Nope
      – Under 17 world cup. Nope
      – Under 20 Afcon. Nope
      – Under 20 World Cup. Nope
      – This July’s Women’s Afcon. Nope
      – Senior Women’s World Cup. Nope

A whole 6 tournaments that Nigeria directly or indirectly stopped Ghana from participating in!

      Nigeria wicked o!

I apologize unreservedly to my Ghanaian brothers and sisters. Mr Selfie and Honourable Mr Yaw, we Nigeria fans love you with all our hearts.

Please, enjoy the Qatar world cup but, importantly, stick around after the world cup.

We understand how Nigerians are still bitter after Ghana stopped them from going yo Qatar. All these age- group competitions put together can never be equal to the world cup. If you were genuinely winning these competitions it should reflect in your performance at the senior level. Why then is Nigeria not doing well at the senior level on the world stage? Because you cheat your way through with these age group competitions

          Liyobe,

Thanks for your message above my beloved Ghanaian cousin.

When you talk about cheating in age grade tournament, don’t say that to me.

Rather, go and talk to my new found Ghanaian best friend Mr Selfie who brags up and down about Ghana’s exploits in Under-20 and Under-17 world cups (knowing fully well that even this year, Ghana has been called out for age cheating).

Also, allow me to remind you that the Women’s senior national team is not age restricted. That being the case, how come Nigeria has won 11 Women’s Afcon and has participated in all Women’s world cups whereas Ghanaian women are nowhere to be found on the continent let alone the global stage?

As far as the senior men’s team, let me also remind you that Nigeria fared much better that Ghana in the recently concluded Afcon and Nigeria went to a whole 3 world cups across 12 years before Ghana knew what world cup is.

Admittedly, Ghana PIPPED Nigeria to qualify for this year’s world cup. That is in no way indicative of Ghana’s strength. The top 10 African teams qualfied for the last stage of world cup qualifiers with heavyweights like Algeria, Egypt and Nigeria losing out.

It only goes to show that Africa needs 2 or 3 more slots.

Although Ghana has gone farther in the world cup, it is a matter of historical fact that Nigeria has attended more tournaments than Ghana.

Overall, Nigeria’s national team football across gender is in a very good place. All our teams our doing well and our Super Eagles are demolishing teams 10:0 just like we were the only team to amass 9 points in the group stages of the last Afcon where Ghana lost to Comoros Island!

Sadly, the Super Eagles experienced some expensive hiccups along the way in 2022, but be in no doubt, like the phoenix, we shall rise again from the ashes of these disappointment to reclaim our rightful place in African football.

Our youth and women’s teams are giving everyone a glimpse of artillery we still possess in our arsenal.

I love and welcome Ghanaian presence on this platform. I have thoroughly jumped for joyed as to how how youth and women’s teams have disappointed you time and time again with swashbuckling victories. Please, Enjoy Qatar 2022 but most importantly, stick around after the World Cup. At least by then we will be equal, well not exactly, we can never be equal.

Nigeria is bigger and better than Ghana in national team football across gender and the numbers are there in the public domain for all to see!

I want to be honest the lady he stood with is pretty but the guy is shit ask fanatic or others who saw the video before he deleted. Dissing is president that they should show him the middle finger. People just hide behind internet and in real this idiots will not be able to lace your boot. This guy is an example of Cowardise he looks too unkept and like a mad man without tooth. On some videos he uses bandana to hide his rubbish bald hair and some he did those nonsense dread on a bald head looking like an old witch. Trying hard to be famous by insulting people everywhere yet he ends up with only 57views of YouTube video posted over a year ago. Foolish pig still went to change name to Durag to continue his lying Campaign or byforce famous because Ghanaians always try to use Nigeria or any means to become known.

Ghana has landed themselves and their boastfulness in the mystery of defeat on home soil. Now they can come and watch us and see how Burkina Faso can be beaten in the final.Mey they go play third place. That’s if they would win against CIV.

You must always come up with an excuse for losing. You stink, man, making mockery of yourself up and down. Your Black Queens that lost the qualification slot, were your opponents overaged too? If you can’t pin it down to age cheat, you’ll mention referee bias.

When re you really going to wake up and admit that victory in matches isn’t the birth right of Ghanaian football teams? You accuse people of beating your boys with men, how come over 20 members of this Black Starlets team were disqualified on age cheat ground before the commencement of this competition? If you may know, some of these Nigerian boys are still in secondary school. In Ghana, what’s the average age of your senior students in high schools? 25? Didn’t CAF run the MRI test on them before coming to your country to participate in WAFUB competition? You claim they re old, yet you’ve got no evidence. Were you in the Labour room when they were born? I’ll be eager to see the excuse you’ll give after your team’s exit from the WC.

The hypocrite and hateful Ghanaians would never admit that another country is better than them in anything. They call themselves Brazilians of Africa. They hate each other let a lone other country but they always smile as if they are innocent people. They always pretend as if they love foreigners but green snake under the green grass. I really surprise how they hate Nigerians so much

Even the world cup they qualified for was 2 draws over 2 legs…Useless Eguavoen should have taken his chances against the most useless Ghanaian team I have seen in a decade. Beaten by Comoros and didn’t even make it out of the group stage at the Afcon.

@footballfanatic, was Eguavon your striker? You can qualify for all the under aged competitions, you will not play in the senior World Cup. You always use over aged players that’s why you are always beaten at the senior level. They are too old by the time they get to the super eagles. The last time I heard Ahmed Musa is 29 yrs old and I laughed. Do you guys believe the ages of Musa And Ighalo? They have cheated from U-17 to the super chicken. How can they perform? Do you guys see any correlation between the number of trophies won at junior competitions and that won by your super chickens? How many players have been on top for at least 10yrs? You guys will not go anywhere with this age cheating thing. For the first time a saw a very young Ghanaian team. The Nigerian team look better than in previous years but still over aged. Let’s stop the age cheating else we won’t go anywhere.

Remembered how they danced the streets because their boxer made it to final in the Olympics. What a village minded nation.

A Ghanaian 200m runner Azamti that will not even smell 7th in Africa meets came last in the 200m Race at the Paris Diamond league https://youtu.be/eOYsnFAh0hU ,and their rubbish YouTube site made a false news that the Ghanaian guy came first and defeated a strong field. Behold come and see congratulations from every Angle and praises to their nation for the nonsense lies. Ghanaians are fake people that always try to hype their nonsense country that has nothing to write home about even to the extent of hating the real Champs. That is why every thing is befalling them now. Shame shame shame everywhere to Ghana. Ghana should change or face the worst as I write they buy fuel at almost 1000naira per liter and Nigeria is still buying below 200niara per liter. Them swear give Ghana. The debt in the country became so high that I had to move my investment out of there because they started targeting Nigerians for everything that happens Instead of learning from us how we make.              Benjamin Azamati wins 100m at Paris Diamond League – Video

Ghana’s 100m record holder, Benjamin Azamati has won the 100m in just his second Diamond League meeting in Paris.

Benjamin, who finished fourth in the Oslo Diamond League meeting days ago, run a time of 10.25 seconds to win his first-ever Diamond League race at the Stade Charlety despite difficult weather conditions.

It is certainly a double joy for Azamati who has just been signed by ASICS for the next 2 and half years.

The athlete, now the face of AISCS Global Sprints, gave his competitors more to think about in the future with this latest performance.

It was hot in Paris as athletes had to run into a headwind of -1.6.

Despite stumbling at the very start of the race, Benjamin managed to get over the line.

His teammate and countryman compatriot, Sean Safo-Antwi also finished in sixth with a time of 10.45 seconds.

The Diamond League meetings are part of preparations for the upcoming World Athletics Championship in Oregon, United States, and Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Great Britain.

Benjamin Azamati Wins Gold In Paris Diamond League

Ghanaian sprinter, Benjamin Azamati has won gold in the men’s 100m race at the Paris Diamond League.

Azamati ran a time of 10.25s, finishing the race ahead of Mouhamadou Fall and Jimmy Vicaut, both from France.

Fellow Ghanaian sprinter, Sean Safo-Antwi, however, finished sixth with a time of 10.45s.

Azamati’s winning time was slower than his time in his last race in Oslo, where he ran 10.15s to finish fourth.

The former University of Ghana student will also compete in the 200m race, where he will come up against reigning Olympic champion, Andre de Grasse

Azamati was born on 14 January 1998 to John and Faustina Azamati in Akim oda, Ghana. His preferred sport growing up was football but transitioned to athletics while attending Presbyterian boys senior high school in Accra where his running talent was discovered by his PE masters (Nathaniel Botchway, Gideon Appah, and Mr. Kofi Dadzie).

He won the gold medal at the 2019 African Games in Rabat. He won the GUSA 100m on two occasions. Sprinter Benjamin Azamati, broke Leo Myles-Mills’ long standing Ghana national record in the 100m and booked a place at this year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo with a smashing 9.97s (1.5m/s) run in Heat 8 of the Texas Relays on Friday afternoon.

So can u read? What a dumb ass u are haha

Herrrhh so all these evidence I have given u u still arguing here wow

20 JUNE 2022 Ghanaian Times (Accra)

Fellow Ghanaian sprinter, Sean Safo-Antwi also finished sixth with a time of 10.45s.

Azamati earlier finished fourth with a time of 10.45s in the Wanda Diamond League in Oslo, Norway few days ago and was determined to improve his time.

Based in the United States, Azamati will also compete in the 200m race, alongside reigning Olympic champion, Andre de Grasse.

The race was part of his preparations for the World Athletics Championships and the Commonwealth Games to be held in the UK from July-August 2022.

Maybe this will help you well for all you must know. Ghana is not a sports country that is why when it comes to running football and basketball ball that we are ruling in Africa they don’t even hear Ghana or Kenkey. You guys are just a small nation that talks too much and makes noise with your drowning sorry economic and poor citizens. You all need to be humble I mean all of you as a nation so that God will uplift you all. This is my advice because Ghana is too tiny and can not do anything without IMF. Now too IMF hands is off https://mobile.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/business/Ghana-needs-IMF-now-Joe-Jackson-1566029 what will be your fate now? Joe wise says you need IMF but IMF too says you are considered for loan again because you have exceeded the threshold so what will be your hope now? Respect other nations and be quiet so that God will help your case.
