Black Stars of Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has been named Arsenal’s Man of the Match after his five-star display in the Gunners’ 1-0 win at Aston Villa on Saturday.
Arsenal announced Partey as the most outstanding player for his side on their Twitter handle.
Partey beat off competition from goal scorer Bukayo Saka, Kieran Tierney and Martin Odegaard to land the award.
The former Atletico Madrid player was once again in superb form, helping Mikel Arteta’s team secure a fifth consecutive away win thanks to Saka’s first half strike.
He had 88% pass accuracy, 58 touches, won possession nine times, made nine final third entries, won five duels and attempted three take-ons.
Also, he completed two take-ons, made two tackles, two interceptions, created one chance and had one shot on target.
Recall he was named Arsenal Player of the Month for February which was his first ever since joining the club.
He is expected to be part of the Black Stars when they face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup qualifying playoffs.
The first leg comes up in Kumasi on March 25 while the second leg will hold four days later in Abuja.

You are joking. Try and research the ghana team and you will know there Baba Idrisu, Addo etc who are always task with doing the dirty work for partey to always bomb forward. You guys will not survive in kumasi.
I don’t get why do CSN report Ghanaians news here when they aren’t reporting Nigeria players. Okoye was the man of the match yesterday yet no report about not it’s about partey they can respond to. @yaw opare you even know yourself that you do dirty works and @selfmaid was saying Ghana doesn’t do physical battle that they are the “most technical team in Africa”. You need a world class players and coach to be technically sound you have none of those only Thomas partey, and am sure he would be restricted to defensive duties

Breaking news: the Ghana list is out but it’s could be just a rumour. On the list Hudson odoi is there, lamprey of Brighton, Felix Ayan Gyan the Roma kid and Mohammed salisu is still in the list but there are speculations that he may not honour the call and there is still work for Hudson to do because he had played for England before z just need to get FIFA’S clearance.
