Burkina Faso, known for their resilience, struggled to penetrate a disciplined Ivorian backline anchored by Evan Ndicka.
Amad Diallo gave the Elephants an early advantage, opening the scoring in the 20th minute, before Yan Diomande doubled the lead in the 32nd minute.
Bazoumana Touré sealed the victory with a third goal late on in the 87th minute to set up a mouth-watering clash against Egypt in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
