South Africa head coach Hugo Broos has reacted to his team’s elimination from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Bafana Bafana lost 2-1 to the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in a Round of 16 encounter in Rabat on Sunday night.
Bafana Bafana dominated the opening 30 minutes but were let down by their poor finishing.
Cameroon took the lead through Junior Tchamadeu in the 34th minute, while Christian Kofane doubled their advantage two minutes after the break.
Substitute Evidence Makgopa reduced the deficit for Bafana Bafana three minutes from time.
Broos claimed that his team deserved more from the game.
“That’s the way life is. Our team did not deserve to lose tonight; this is not the result we came for, but we have to acknowledge that it is what it is,” Broos was quoted by CAFonline.
” We will now focus on preparing for our future objectives, with the World Cup in our sights.”
