Zambia and Comoros kept their hope of qualifying for the next round of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations still alive after playing the first goalless draw of the tournament.
The game got off to a lively start as Comoros provided the first big chance in the opening 10 minutes as Myziane Maolida latched onto a loose ball in the box and unleashed a low strike that was blocked by a Zambian defender on the line.

Comoros thought they had gotten their reward in the 18th minute when the lively Maolida scored with the easiest of tap-ins after being picked out by Rafiki Said. However, after reviewing the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) monitor, the referee decided to rule the goal out for Yacine Bourhane’s foul on Owen Tembo in the buildup.
All efforts from both teams to break the deadlock proved abortive as the game ended in a goalless draw.
As a result, Zambia pick up their second point and move to the second spot in Group A, while Comoros secure their first point.
