Former Nigeria striker, Benedict Akwuegbu, is looking forward to a possible spot in the second-tier domestic league, the Nigeria National League (NNL), following his club Ben Akwuegbu FC 100% performance so far in the ongoing Nationwide League One (NLO) playoffs holding in Jos, Completesports.com reports.
The ‘Austria Bomber’, as Akwuegbu is fondly called, is President and financier of Ben Akwuegbu FC, Jos. The club is currently enjoying a flying start at the Jos Centre of the NLO playoffs.
Ben Akwuegbu FC have amassed the maximum six points from two games so far, taking supreme command of the Jos Centre standings after a 4-0 thrashing of Dream Big FC in their opening fixture and a 2-0 victory over Global Peace FC on Friday.

Akwuegbu spoke to Completesports.com from his base in London, United Kingdom, on Saturday, commending the team for their performance so far but warning that they must not allow their early success to get into their heads.
The former Heartland FC Assistant General Manager says it would not be out of place for the club to seal an NNL spot if they keep their heads down and remain focused on the games ahead.
“I think it’s a good performance so far, but the journey is still way too long,” Akwuegbu said.
“But it’s all about focus and humility. If they keep their heads down and concentrate only on the next game, why not? An NNL spot won’t be impossible to achieve,” the ‘Austria Bomber’ added.
Joshua Zira is the Technical Adviser of the club, with Sam Pam Jnr serving as Sporting Director.
Akwuegbu believes the club is in good technical hands to drive their ambition through.
Ben Akwuegbu FC will next face Mechibi United on Tuesday in their third match of the playoffs at the Jos Centre of the NLO playoffs.
