French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco have announced that they have signed Ansu Fati on loan from Barcelona.
Monaco confirmed the signing in a statement released on their website on Tuesday.
“AS Monaco are delighted to announce the arrival of Ansu Fati. The 22-year-old Spanish international striker joins on loan from FC Barcelona for the 2025/2026 season, with an option to buy.
“Born in Bissau (Guinea-Bissau) on 31 October 2002, Ansu Fati grew up in Spain (Andalusia), where he moved at the age of six. He began playing football at CDF Herrera, before moving on to Sevilla FC, before joining La Masia, FC Barcelona’s youth academy, in 2012.
“He made his professional debut for Barça on 25 August 2019, aged just 16. A precocious talent, he quickly proved his worth in La Liga and the Champions League. On 10 December, he scored the winning goal against Inter Milan (2-1) and became, at 17 years and 40 days, the youngest goalscorer in the competition’s history.
“He finished the 2019-2020 season with over 30 appearances and 8 goals, finishing second in the 2020 Golden Boy award, which honors the best player under 21 in Europe.

“With Barcelona, where he played in several attacking positions – winger, attacking midfielder, striker – he made 123 appearances (29 goals and 8 assists) and won two Spanish league titles (2023 and 2025), two Spanish Cups (2021 and 2025) and two Spanish Super Cups (2023 and 2025).”
On Monday Monaco also announced the signing of Paul Pogba.
The former Manchester United and Juventus star joined Monaco on a two-year contract.
Pogba returned to football after seven months without a club. He was a free agent after agreeing to the mutual termination of his Juventus contract in November 2024.
The Serie A giants decided to part ways with the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner after an initial four-year ban in February 2024 for a doping offence was reduced to 18 months.
