The Confederation of African Football,CAF, will conduct a new draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday (today).
The draw ceremony will hold at CAF’s headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
CAF took the decision following a shift in tournament hosting duties from Côte d’Ivoire to Egypt.
Cote d’Ivoire announce their withdrawal as hosts on on 26 March, 2025 — just weeks before the competition’s scheduled kickoff.
Egypt swiftly stepped in to host the biennial competition.
The 13 teams will be split into three pools, Group A with five teams, and Groups B and C with four.
The top two nations in each pool advance to the quarter-finals, along with the two best third-placed sides.
Hosts Egypt will be in position A1 in the draw, Nigeria, who finished third at the tournament two years ago, in B1 and holders Senegal in C1.

Tunisia, Zambia and Central African Republic, who qualified for the last edition, will be in Pot 1 and drawn into one of the three groups.
The teams that did not qualify for the last edition, Morocco, debutants Sierra Leone, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa and DR Congo, will be in Pot 2. They will be placed in the remaining positions in the pools.
The competition will run from Saturday, 27 April to Sunday, 18 May 2025.
Draw Procedures
Seeded teams: Egypt will be in position A1; Nigeria will be in B1 and Senegal will be C1.
Pot 1 for the teams from Level 2: Tunisia, Zambia and Central African Republic
Pot 2 of the teams of Level 3: Morocco, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa & DR Congo
The teams drawn from Pot 1 will go respectively into positions A2, B2 & C2
The teams drawn from the Pot 2 will go respectively into positions A3, B3, C3, A4, B4, C4 & A5
