Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Trevoh Chalobah and Wesley Fofana will both be fit for the team’s Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.
Chalobah, 26, was forced off in their 4-1 friendly win over AC Milan but should be available to play against Palace.
Fofana, who hasn’t played for Chelsea since March due to a hamstring injury, could be set to make his return.
With Levi Colwill set to miss much of the coming season after undergoing ACL surgery, Maresca could not have afforded another defensive injury, but he confirmed that Chalobah’s substitution was simply precautionary.

“(Chalobah) is ok. It was too hot, so he decided to go out,” Maresca told the club’s website.
He was then asked about Fofana, to which he responded: “He will be available for Palace,” he confirmed. “We are very happy because he is an important player.”
Maresca added that he was pleased with the Liam Delap and Joao Pedro’s performances.
“They are both our strikers, so we need them scoring goals during the season. We are very happy with both of them.”
