Tennis star Emma Raducanu has disclosed that her major goal is to improve as a player and not to win titles.
The former US Open champion secured a spot as a seeded player in a WTA 1000 for the first time in over three years and had a first-round bye, debuting against the Serb, world No. 43,Olga Danilovic and comfortably beating her 6-3, 6-2.
Speaking with Tennisuptodate, Raducanu stated that her main goals are not set on fighting for titles but rather on continuing to improve her level and her results.

“I know there will be a time where I’ll be targeting big tournaments, Masters and Slams, but to be honest, right now, that’s not my goal. My goal is to improve as a player,” she said after the victory against Danilovic.
“Bar the first game today, that was not very much fit, but other than that, I was pretty mature and disciplined in my performance.”
“I took care of my service games really well. And I knew that playing Olga, who’s really difficult and really dangerous as a lefty and with big strikes, it was going to be important.”
