Eric Dier’s move to Monaco is complete, with the English defender signing a three-year contract until June 2028.
This is according to European by transfer expert and Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The 31-year-old, whose Bayern Munich contract expires this summer, joined Bayern on loan from Tottenham in January 2024 before making the move permanent.
Monaco, fourth in Ligue 1, secured Dier’s services to add experience to their young squad, despite Bayern’s offer of a one-year extension.
Dier, who made 45 appearances for Bayern, brings versatility and leadership, having played 25 matches this season.
His transfer marks a new chapter in Ligue 1, following stints in England, Portugal, and Germany.
He recently helped Bayern Munich wrestle back the Bundesliga title from Bayer Leverkusen.
Just like his compatriot Harry Kane, Dier secured his first major career title.
He was part of the Tottenham Hotspur sides that lost the 2015 and 2021 English League Cup finals.
Also, he suffered another heartbreak as Spurs lost 2-0 to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League final in 2019.
