Gianluigi Donnarumma has agreed personal terms with Manchester City as he looks to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
The Italy captain is no longer part of Luis Enriqueโs plans in Paris despite playing a key role in PSGโs first Champions League triumph last season.
PSG have already secured a replacement, signing 23-year-old Lucas Chevalier from Lille in a deal worth up to โฌ55 million.
That move has paved the way for Donnarummaโs departure, and City have moved quickly to reach an agreement with him.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reported (Yahoo Sport) that Donnarumma has shaken hands on a contract with City and is eager to play under manager Pep Guardiola.
Negotiations are now ongoing between the club and PSG, with the fee expected to fall below the initial โฌ50m valuation.
However, City cannot finalise the transfer until they make space in their squad by offloading Ederson.
The Brazilian is valued at around โฌ35m and is in the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium.
Talks have been held with Galatasaray, but progress has slowed after they shifted their focus towards Portoโs Diogo Costa.
An early bid worth โฌ10m was swiftly rejected, and Galatasaray are yet to return with a more convincing offer.
Ederson has recently returned to the squad and was on the bench for Cityโs 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Galatasaray also retain an interest in defender Manuel Akanji and are in discussions over a possible ยฃ15m deal.
Until Edersonโs future is resolved, City cannot complete the Donnarumma transfer, although optimism remains that a breakthrough will be made before the deadline.
