Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai has called on the Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum to start imbibing a winning mentality on the team before the start of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup slated for New Zealand and Australia.
Rufai stated this on the backdrop of the team’s -0 to Mexico in their first game at the 2023 Revelations Cup in the early hours of Thursday,
The Falcons have now lost six straight games with their last win coming against Cameroon in the quarter-finals of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

In a chat with Completesports.com, the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner said that the Super Falcons needs a victory to restore that confidence back to the squad.
“It’s a bit sad that the Super Falcons lost against Mexico at the 2023 Revelations Cup. Yes, this may have a psychological effect on the players but on the other hand, this may just be a blessing in disguise for the team.
“Waldrum must ensure he helps the team claim a victory to at least boast the morale of the players.
“Perhaps they can start by winning their next game against Colombia on Saturday and that can just kickstart a great winning spirit among the players before the Women’s World Cup.”

Please, the team doesn’t need a winning DNA, the team needs a real coach. I don’t think we need a crystal ball or soothsayer to tell Nigeria this.
When did Mexico become Nigeria’s mate in female football? Just a fews years ago only teams like the USA and Germany were ahead of Falcons . We were at par with Brazil , Sweden and Australia :winning some and losing some with thwm.In Africa the Falcons were simply unplayable. Now every tom and Harry is wiping Super Falcons.Botn in Africa and abroad.Imagine Zambia, Morrocco et al now rubbishing the SF. The irony about the whole matter is that this is happening in a period the super falcons are having a golden generation of players. So we don’t need any spirituality to decode that the problem of the team is the Coach. Waldrum is a PHE teacher. We don’t need him any more. Pls he shouldnt be lowed to take the team to the world cup cos we cannot achieved anything with him in charge. Sack him now. The retrogression is too much
Win what Colombia with what coach? Even Colombia u20 will walk over falcons. Mexico that has no pedigree was able to outplay and even scored a golazo against us and you’re talking about winning DNA when you people should be advising NFF to stop this criminal contract they have with the college coach.
Every Nigerian tongue is wagging! The knives are out! Soon the coach will be sacked wuthout payment of his salaries. Eguavoen will be appointed to manage the Super Falcons, and history will repeat itself.

What kind of DNA is he advising the coach to give to the team. You can’t give what you don’t have. It’s what the coach that he offering the team DNA OF DEFEAT AND FAILURE. The coach wasn’t going into all these matches since the WAFCON with an intention of losing the games but he has no winning mentality. Not tactical enough to win the matches. As a college football coach, the national team job is too bogus and too complicated for him. The shoe is too big a size for him to wear.
Our sports federation (NFF to be specific) knew this, but because of the dubious and corrupt nature existing in that body went ahead for their own selfish gain of kill-and-divide to signing him thereby putting the once a dominant force in the world,into a jeopardy.
It’s high time the Sports Minister order for the termination of the coach before more harm is done to the team.
