Enyimba have debunked reports they have sacked their head coach Finidi George.
Sporting director of the club, Ifeanyi Ekwueme through a statement announced the sacking of Finidi and his technical crew members.
Ekwueme directed all club’s members of staff, management and technical crew members to re-apply within the next 48 hours.

The club have however stated that the head coach is exempted from the exercise.
The former winger guided Enyimba to a record ninth Nigeria Premier League title last season.
He is reportedly negotiating a new contract with the Aba giants.
It remain to be seen whether Finidi’s assistant will be exempted from clean up at the club.

If you dont want a coach again dismiss him and let him go. Which one is sacking the whole crew and asking them to reapply again…? Is it the federal civil service…??
To think an ex-international in person of Ifeanyi Ekwueme (or maybe its not the Ifeanyi Ekwueme that played of the SE) is the sporting director who is taking such an amateurish decision makes it even more disappointing.
Are these not the ex-internationals who claim to be solely entitled to having the magic wand to run our football….???
So i think the process might be a little awkward. However, what Kanu’s new administration are trying to do is restructure things especially there are ancient of days in that system that might deter his administration from working.
When you are restructuring it must be seen that everybody is affected and during that process some important and diligent staff will be retained.
Asking a coach that just won the league to resign and reapply is not only disgraceful but an absolute madness. Coming from the same Kano that Finidi helped in settling down at Ajax.
This really reveals the level of intelligence of Kanu Nwankwo and Ifeanyi Ekwueme. Do these guts really hold management qualifications or they are just being appointed for popularity sake.
If Finidi is wise enough, he should know better that he is not wanted. He should move to well paying team like Rivers United.
