![Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that the club is in dialogue with Chinese Premier League club Shanghai Shenhua to extend the loan deal of Nigeria forward Odion Ighalo. Ighalo joined the Red Devils on loan in January which will expire on May 31. The 30-year-old is expected to return to Shanghai Shenhua next week for the start of the new Chinese Super League season unless an agreement can be reached to keep him till the end of the season. "At the moment nothing's been agreed yet," Solskjaer told MUTV. "The loan deal went to the end of May now, so obviously he's supposed to be going back. "We're in dialogue and hopefully [he can stay]. They've been great towards us, his club, and allow him to play for his dream club. "It's been been a dream for him and hopefully he can finish off what he started, maybe with a trophy or two. "Their league is going to start soon so we are just waiting to see." Nigeria forward Odion Ighalo has made the Sunday Times Rich List for those aged 30 or under.
Ighalo, who will be 31 in June sits in 15th position and is among the five Manchester players in the illustrious list.
The former Watford striker’s £18m wealth is factored by his substantial £300,000-a-week wage at parent club Shanghai Shenhua.
Ighalo is on loan at United until the end of the month with the Premier League side contributing £130,000-a-week towards his wages.
Ighalo’s Manchester United teammates, Paul Pogba sits third in the list with a wealth of £50million. His income has increased by £13m from 2019 seeing him jump up five places from eighth.
David de Gea, who became Manchester United’s highest-paid star after signing a new £375000-a-week contract in September – is joint-fourth at £34m.
Anthony Martial, who signed a new deal at United last year – worth £200,000-a-week sits joint-11th at a wealth of £20m with Liverpool centre back Virgil van Dijk.
Luke Shaw sits joint-13th with Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah at £19m.
