Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has described Michael Olise as a replica of former Man City teammate Kevin de Bruyne.
The Belgian tactician made this known on the backdrop of his impressive display against Freiburg, where the Bavarian came from two goals down to win 3-2 in Saturday’s Bundesliga game.
In a chat with the club’s website, Kompany paid a glowing tribute to the France international.

“What sets him apart is his mentality.
“He’s a perfectionist, an extremely fussy guy who gets irritated if every detail isn’t perfect. For a coach who strives for excellence, having a player who demands so much of himself makes the job much easier.
“I often see him in Kevin. His precision in his shooting, his quality in his dribbling, and his ability to use both feet are qualities I’ve admired in the past.
“He’s destined to grow further and will be an added value for Bayern’s future.”

This is a nonsense comment with due respect to Kompany who I rate as a very good defender once upon a time, and a very good manager also currently and taking into consideration that he trains and sees Olise daily as his current manager, nonetheless, to say that Olise is the a replica of De Bruyne is kidology, Olise is 10 times better and more versatile than De Brune was, is and will ever be if you excuse the expression – to put it simply, Olise is an explosive and game changing maverick attacker and a future Balon D’or, while even though De Bruyne could have possibly won a Balon D’or himself depending on the luck of the draw he finds himself in at a time of relevance, it is erroneous to say that he is any kind of replica of De Bruyne.
De Bruyne is a midfield maestro (arguably) as he needed a very particular set of circumstances ie club to be able to be seen as such – he had been at many other clubs and was not able to shine for whatever treasons whereas Olise has shone and WILL shine wherever he rocks up at, even at a smaller club like Palace, he stood out as a world beater and the only players to memory who he could be a replica of or in the mould of are people like Messi, Neymar or in the same mould as a Lamine Yamal or other greats of yonder years like Ronaldinho etc, so there is no way that he is a replica of De Bruyne, on the contrary, he is a much superior talent to what De Bruyne is, and this fact is plain to see and clear as day.
nevertheless, I think that Vincent Kompany has earned the right to have his sown opinion and it is a valid as anyone else’s so long as it is seen as just that – his own opinion.
