President Tinubu To Watch AFCON 2023 Final Live In Abidjan

Nigeria’s president Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be in attendance when the Super Eagles take on hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe revealed the news during his interaction with the media on Friday.

Motsepe was asked during his press conference at the Palace de la culture, Trechville, Abidjan when can Africa host the World Cup again.

The South African replied: “Nigeria must put in a bid. The Nigerian president (Bola Tinubu) is coming to watch the final on Sunday. I will have a conversation with him about it.”

It would be recalled that Nigeria’s number two citizen, Kashim Shettima was in attendance when the Super Eagles defeated the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the semi-finals on Wednesday.

Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire will clash in the final at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on Sunday.

The highly anticipated encounter will kick-off at 9pm Nigeria time.

On your mandate we stand Mr President.Your mandate is really a blessing to our football sector. Maybe if Peter obi had won, the super eagles wouldn’t have gotten this far..

You made a very good appointment by appointing John enoh as the minister of sport…( If na Peter obi he would have appointed his dumb brother. He would have brought tribe into it)we Nigerians are now reaping the benefits by the super eagles being in the final and then by God’s grace they will bring the trophy home.

Thank you Mr President (bola Ahmed tinubu

@ Monkey Post, why are you calling your fellow Nigerians or another ethnic group dumb? How do you expect the Ghanaians and South Africans to respect us when you call your fellow Nigerians dumb brother?

Please note, the diverse ethnic group in our country is our strength as a Nation. Let’s strive to respect and appreciate it.

I actually like your “Criticism trait” on this platform but calling another ethnic group as a dumb brother is like misfiring.

        One love bro.

Great extra motivation for the Super Eagles to win. Cos I know Alassaine Outarra too will be live in the stadium, along with 50K or so Ivorian fans roaring their team on.

But the SE are world-class professionals and will not be daunted. 3-1 Nigeria wins as new African Kings.

Please the president should stay home and fix our economy, the supereagles dont need such unnecesary preasure, we should be very humble in this game because we are now favourite against the host, and they are a verry good side in disguise, the respect we gave them the last meeting gave us that victory. But if emilokan have political plan for the eagles to win via anyhow, like the way he won the last electìon, ok, he is good to go there, maybe he have declared the Cup emilikan to Nigeria this time, personaly i feel it will be an unnecesary preasure rather than motivation to those players, he should stay home and pray for them to bring the cup to aso rock,
I will also advice the supereagles fans to be humble at this stage, we should not brag too much, the match is very important to the ivorians aswell, and they will put in everything to keep the cup, we need alot of dicipline to steal this treasure from the elephants, i repeat our sopporters should be humble, expecially the ones in the stadium their conducts so far have been quite abusive towards opponents fans including the home fans in our first game, the ivorians will not take this coming lost likely in this final clash, so our People should be careful.
        1994 = 2024 emilokan Naija turn.

Quite unfortunate that whenever sports touch on the presidnecy, most of us just can’t help but betray our deepest biases.

No matter our political differences or preferences, we should learn to respect the office of the president so others will support you when it’s time to aspire to it.

It is the norm for presidents and prime ministers to watch their national teams live if they’re playing the final like in the 2018 and 2012 World Cup (Croatian, France, etc). Allssaine Outarra I’m sure will be there.

Anyway, Tinubu has delegated Shettime to represent him, which is still perfectly okay.

Shettima went to watch, the match went to extra-time with Nigeria almost losing.

      Tinubu wants to watch. Hian!!!

From the few comments i have read here, it clearly shows that Nigeria is not one and can never be one. All tbese one nigeria stuff is just bullshit. When some people castigate other tribes at every slightest opportunity is very disheartening. @monkey post and dr banks, I’m utterly disappointed in you guys. This is one of the reasons why nigeria is not progressing and would never progress until we learn to respect, value and cherish each other. It is this same thing that our politicians capitalize on to keep keeping us down. They know full well that anytime they throw the tribal cards, that some gullible ones (no matter their level of education and exposure in life) will fall for it. It is a shame!

But this one that you’re coming here to form holy holy, as if you have never been guilty of castigating other tribes I no come understand again. abi you want make we dig up post?? My brother abeg forget this tribal banter is what we will have to live with like it or not..you think a country of over 250 ethnic groups and over 500 languages will do without some of these tribal banter? Even as small as Ghana is am sure there will banters of this sort..am besides when I mention Peter obi dumb brother I only meant a brother like maybe younger or cousin or something like that from his immediate family.. honestly insulting the whole Igbo race didn’t come to my mind atall..the likes of Stan and lollipops only blew it out of proportion….

I have really confirmed today that you are the real monkey you call you call yourself. You are as foolish as a four year old baby. You are a Tribal bigot that destroys a national unity. Some monkeys are wise but your own monkey needs at least a one year old boy sense. Monkey

It pains me when they tag anyone who is critical of the calamity happening in Nigeria now as Ibo!…..even the educated ones among them play that card too when they have no other way to defend the docile old plague we have in Aso rock…..
      1 Dollar is 1500 naira
Bag of rice is 80000 naira
Bag of cement is 8000 naira
      Fuel is 700 per liter
Basket of tomatoes is 45000 naira
We have never had this unprecedented suffering and hardship in the history of this nation and some people are happy that the mandate thief who imposed himself on us is going to CIV to sit down in the stadium to stare at 22 men running around a pitch without even knowing what is going on…..
Am not ibo and I know suffering and hardship does not know tribe or religion….. insecurity does not know tribe and religion….I pity for Nigerian youth because the future is really not looking bright at all.

Even though you don’t have the Igbo ethnic group in mind while you made your statement, I felt is unnecessary to call Peter Obi family members “ Dumb Brothers”.

When Nigeria will start getting better is that era when everyone regardless of tribe will stand for the truth…It could take a few more generations to get there.
We should always support justice uprightness and fairness.
Most of us run to foreign countries today for better life,we should ask each other, had these people practice tribalism and turn a blind eyes to malpractices because it favours their tribesmen, these countries wouldn’t command the attraction it does today.
      We should learn.
After a credible election, let the candidate with the highest vote cast declared winner is that hard to do?And when someone cheat to the top we as a nation regardless our tribes should in oneness oppose it,otherwise we are just pretending calling ourselves a country.
Many of us here are super rich and may not directly affected by the situation in the country, but we should remember the millions back home who cannot afford a meal and other amenities.Your tribeman in power does not make life easier for you,the leader does not even know you neither is he even bothered,so why all this support for corruption?Weird!pathetic!

Your immodest tone and shameless presentation here and your quality of being abusive to people who didn’t abuse you any way, show how crude, unpolished and primitive you are. Until people like you stand up to the truth and declare against unfairness/injustice and robbery of any type, this country will continue to go down the drain. If you PRETEND that the mandate was not stolen or PRETEND that you are not affected by it in any way, your generations will not escape the tears of your role and support for the criminality.
