Rangers manager has reflected on Joe Aribo’s new position in Sunday’s Scottish Cup win against Celtic, reports Completesports.com.
Aribo played a little bit more on the wing in the game and provided the assist for his side’s opening goal.
“This is a shape we have worked on for an awful long time and within that shape, we do tweak certain things, for example, Joe Aribo, we asked him to play a little bit more wide today so they didn’t have that free pass outside and that they could play behind us,”Gerrard told Rangers TV.
“I thought we managed that really well.

“Look, Celtic are a good team with top players and they are always going to have a period of the game where they get on top and they create chances.
“They have got top players – we know that. But these lads take information on so well and everything we have asked them to do today, they have gone and carried that out.
“Towards the end of the game, we dropped both our number 10s back into the wide and went more as a 4-5-1 just to stop them getting wide and put crosses into our box.
“So there were a few things we changed tactically, but it is alright saying it and preparing for it, the boys have got to go out and deliver that and they did excellently well.”

Meaning Aribo is also good at playing at the wings too, we herby that NOTE of this. We can see the options players bring to the table. Nobody should shout when GR plays Aribo at the wings oh.
He can play, RW, LW, LMF, RMF, CMF, DM, LFB. He is that good. He is underutilized in the Super Eagles, probably due to the fact that we are too used to certain players playing in a particular position or we don’t have too many options in midfield yet. But for sure Aribo has a place in the Super Eagles anytime, anyday!
You know , I’m sure that with all that I’m seeing , there should be a way Joe is given free access to express himself esp in the midfield role of the Super Eagles. His role exposure is akin to Steven Gerrard when he was in Liverpool. There’s no position he couldn’t play . CM, RMF, LMF, RW, LW, even in the defence , he was super dynamite . The reason why AC Milan had a tough time against Liverpool in the champions league final was be sure Gerrard scored , set up the winning goal and secured a penalty to level the playing field in which they won via penalty shootout. So Joe is going through the same phase . And it’s certain that with this new trend , SE are likely gonna be unstoppable.
