2020 Olympic champion Belinda Bencic has expressed her readiness to face Iga Swiatek in the semi-final of the Wimbledon championship.
Bencic, who returned to the WTA Tour earlier this year after giving birth, defeated Mirra Andreeva 7-6(3) 7-6(2) to advance to the last four at a major for the second time.
Recall that Bencic started the year ranked outside the top 400 after taking most of 2024 off after giving birth to daughter Bella.

She is now projected to return to the top 20 following Wimbledon, where she is looking to win her first Grand Slam title.
“I am very proud,” she told Tennis.com.
“All my career I didn’t say it a lot to myself but after having Bella I say it every day. I wouldn’t be able to do it without my amazing family and amazing team, we worked so hard on the comeback and we are enjoying life on tour with Bella travelling.
“We are enjoying life on tour and to play great is a bonus. I’m generally just really happy to be able to play again, because my body allows it.”
