Nigeria’s D’Tigers lost by 69 – 55 points ro Guinea in their first round, second Group C game at the 2027 FIBA World Cup qualification tournament in Tunisia on Saturday.
D’Tigers went into the contest hoping to bounce back from their opening fixture which they lost 88 – 78 to Tunisia after overtime on Thursday.
On their part, Guinea have now won their second group match after begining their campaign by beating Rwanda 82 – 70.
Guinea edged out D’Tigers in all the four quarters to emerge winners.
The Guineans took the first quarter 22 – 16 before also taking the second quarter 26 – 35.

In the third quarter Guinea won it by 52 – 41 to wrap up the tie by 69 points to 55.
D’Tigers will be back in action on Sunday, 30 December to take on Rwanda.
Five teams from Africa will represent the continent at the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Qatar.
The tournament will begin on 27 August and end on 12 September, 2027.
D’Tigers have only featured at the FIBA Basketball World Cup on three occasions – 1998, 2006 and 2019.
At their debut in 1998 the team was knocked out at the preliminary stage, reached the round of 16 in 2006 before crashing out again in the preliminary phase at the 2019 edition.
