Senegal forward Sadio Mane was named Most Valuable Player, MVP, at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations,reports Completesports.com.
Mane registered two goals,and four assists in six appearances for the Terangha Lions in the competition.
The 33-year-old played a crucial role in Senegal’s 1-0 final victory over hosts Morocco.
The former Liverpool star set up Pape Gueye for the winning goal in extra time.
Morocco winger, Brahim Diaz won the top scorer award with five goals.
Diaz’s teammate, Yassine Bounou was named Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
Morocco also went home with the Fair Play award.

Senegal are deserved winners.
They aren’t technically better than Nigerian players and they aren’t more skilled. But they are mentally tougher.
Reason why I insisted before the tournament that Nigeria won’t win it because the players didn’t have what it takes.

Yes, Mbaye as teenage as he is has won nearly everything with PSG. Senegal also have exciting crop of young talent that 4 years afcon cycle may slow down in winning afcon but before then, 2 years 2027 and 2028 still dey to be more relentless but without the “inspiration” of Mane and Koulibaly, then it might be “difficult” for Senegal to reach our feat.
Imagine eagles reaching 17 semi finals and only winning 3 afcons.
