Calvin Bassey is set to miss the Super Eagles friendly game against Eagles of Mali due to injury.
Bassey did not feature in Friday’s friendly game against Ghana’s Black Stars which the Eagles won 2-1.
The Fulham defender was on the bench for 90 minutes as the trio of debutant Benjamin Tanimu, Chidozie Awaziem and Semi Ajayi we’re in the three-man backline.
Now according to Fulham Fan News, Bassey will return to Fulham to undergo further tests and treatment because of the injury.
The extent or nature of Bassey’s injury is unknown, but it would be a big blow for Fulham if it is a long-term injury.

The club is currently 12th in the Premier League with nine games left, and they would be looking to finish well and probably nick a spot in Europe.
Bassey was impressive for the Eagles as he helped them to reach the final of the AFCON 2023 which was won by hosts Côte d’Ivoire.

If Bruno is reading this let him take note that he is a good player but should work on his ball control. He couldn’t trap a cross shot on 3 occasions against Ghana unmarked and that’s a low for a super eagles player. Speedy recovery to Bassey!!!

Good point Chima but baseey will not even play as a Left back if he is around. He gives the best to us when he plays as part of a three man central defence.
