The last five winners in men’s competition were Novak Djokovic on two occasions in 2020, and 2023, Alexander Zverev in 2021, Borna Coric in 2022, and Jannik Sinner last year. As far as the ladies’ draw goes, the 2020 Cincinnati Open was won by Victoria Azarenka, followed by Ashleigh Barty in 2021, Caroline Garcia in 2022, Coco Gauff in 2022, and Aryna Sabalenka last year.

With the critics of his play and behaviour coming over from all sides from the likes of Rafael Nadal who even refused to coach him and compatriot Boris Becker, Alexander might just find that extra dose of motivation in crucial moments of the season. Taylor Fritz
While at +2800 (29.00) Fritz has little to no chances to win the Cincinnati Open, there are possibilities that he could go far in Ohio, and when he does, anything is possible. The home field advantage is not to be underestimated. The home crowd will be beside Taylor through the tour, and he finds a way to draw from their energy, we can see him go to the finals. Even at his odds, reaching semi finals should be a real possibility. At the end of the day, he has proven at Wimbledon that he is in great shape, and that regular last four appearances are in the cards for him going forward.

Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka held her first spot in the WTA rankings despite crashing out in the semis of the Wimbledon. It was a massive letdown for her fans, but we all know that she always strikes back after every setback. The Cincinnati Open will be a great opportunity for the Belarusian player to get back to winning ways. The odds tell a similar story and if you want to wager on Aryna the odds are +260(3.60). Sabalenka is the last year winner, so there is plenty of points to be lost if she drops out of the tournament without winning it. One month ago, some of her flaws were exploited by rivals during Wimbledon, and if she doesn’t take a step up, some of the odds on this list might appear better as the tournament goes on.
Iga Swiatek
Iga, just like Jannik Sinner, had an amazing comeback after her suspension. With one of the most dominant wins in the history of Wimbledon finals, Swiatek is a hot favourite at all tournaments she decides to participate in. Some betting outlets are having her as the favorite to take home the 2025 Cincinnati Open. For us, we’ll go with +375 odds (4.75) which put her right behind Sabalenka. The two ladies are favoured to meet in the final, and if that happens we stand with Aryna. In any case it is going to be a match to remember, but we have to wait and see whether these two ladies are going to play according to expectations of fans and bookies alike.
Coco Gauf
Coco is another player who will be looking to bounce back from an atrocious tournament in England. Her experience at Wimbledon is one she will be looking to forget as soon as possible. Her odds are nice sitting at +650 (7.50), and we firmly believe she is in the running for this trophy. The chances are high that an American tennis player could win it, as traditionally they perform at this tournament. She has two titles to her name this year at ATX Open and Charleston Open, and in Cincinnati she will be looking to add the third.
Venus Williams
We do not currently have the odds for Venus Williams winning a tournament as big as this one. At the end of the day, we are listing her here as a dark horse to win the Cincinnati Open. The 45 year old has made a remarkable return to tennis after 16 months outside of the game. Can she cut it on the highest level? It is hard to tell. At the end of the day, she has no need of money or additional tennis glory. She has plenty of both. Venus is back for sports reasons only, and with her appearance at the Washington Open she already made history as the oldest player since 2004 to win an WTA singles match. She even reached 1/8 finals where she lost to Magdalena Frech. While it is going to be hard to find consistency on the highest level considering her age and absence from tennis, Venus will be looking to get sharp as possible for the Cincinnati Open, with one eye most likely being on the US open.
