Man United continued from their impressive victory against Liverpool at Anfield as the Red Devils defeated Brighton 4-2 in Saturday’s Premier League game at Old Trafford.
The host took the lead in the 24th minute through Matheus Cunha. It was his first goal for the Red Devils since joining the team in the summer.

Casemiro then doubled the lead with a deflected effort before Mbeumo gave United complete command when he curled inside the near post following good work from Benjamin Sesko.
Danny Welbeck gave Brighton a glimmer of hope with a fine free-kick, before Charalampos Kostoulas’ header in added time reduced the deficit to just one goal.
However, Mbeumo made sure of the points with an emphatic finish in the final minute of stoppage time.

The 4th Man United goal is a collector’s item.
Bruno Fernandes has a football IQ that is one of the highest I’ve seen in recent times.
The look he gave Mbeumo before the pass reached him is what I call THE GOLDEN LOOK. The look AMs give their strikers before the action happens.
Before Fernandes receives the pass from his defender, he LOOKS BEHIND to see THE BIG PICTURE, to see what the situation is, what opportunities exist, and he sees Mbeumo poised to make a run in behind the Brighton defense. He then looks at Mbeumo, silently communicating his intentions, and Mbeumo returns the look, showing that he is on the same page by starting the run. When the pass eventually reaches Fernandes, he pretends to attempt to control it, but then leaves it to roll directly into Mbeumo’s path, completely wrongfooting the Brighton defenders, and leaving Mbeumo with a free path to goal.
Footballing genius on display by Fernandes. No dribbling, no showboating, just intelligent awareness of the situation around him to deadly effect.
As for Mbeumo, if we are going to meet Cameroon in the playoffs which is very likely, his recent vein of form must be cause for concern for our coaching staff. Hope they have a strategy to keep this lad quiet. Fortunately, he will not have Fernandes and Cunha available to help him against Nigeria, but on his own he is still quite the handful. We will have to keep a close eye on him on match day.
