Abakaliki FC arrived in Lagos on Monday ahead of Saturday’s 2025 President Federation Cup Final against Kwara United, Completesports.com reports.
The Rice Boys, a second-tier Nigerian league side, are making their first-ever appearance in the Cup final, and Coach Ifeanyi Onyedika (MON) is determined to make it a memorable debut.
“We have just arrived in Lagos now,” Captain Cyril ‘Apirioyeh’ Timothy told Completesports.com on Monday evening.

“We thank God for His journey mercies. We arrived early in Lagos so we can acclimatise and focus ahead of the match on Saturday.
“And by the grace of God, we hope to take the trophy home for the first time to our state on Sunday,” the 26-year-old centre-back said.
On their way to the Cup final, Abakaliki FC eliminated four NPFL sides—Katsina United, Nasarawa United, Enyimba, and Ikorodu City—to set up a historic clash against Kwara United, who, for their part, are also making their first-ever appearance in the President Federation Cup Final.
