We have the most useless coach in the history of Nigerian football. Where are all the midfielders you took to this AFCON yet you are bringing Bassey to play in the midfield.

Yeah, true if he is feeling too big. As bad as Awoniyi could be in eagles shirt, he would score one of those chances he has seen. I have never seen him that balance or facing the keeper multiple times like this in eagles shirt.

      3-4-3 attacking, 5-4-1 defending.
We should be up 1-0, if Osimhen had converted that chance.
Let’s hope missed chances don’t come back to bite us in the wazoo.

They are highly organised. They came with a game plan and they have stuck to it .

We won’t lie low for anybody be it minows or powerhouse. SuperEagles are holding their own so far. Onyeka is not doing bad but we are really overwhelmed in midfield. Iwobi please run with the ball for goodness sake. We know you have eye for a pass but you have acres of spaces in front of you run with the ball!!!! This formation has been crying out loud to be our most formidable formation since time immemorial. Let’s go SuperEagles!!!

      Not too bad.

The coach game plan is clear to see – seat back and absorb the pressure, then counter.

We’re yet to really connect the counter attack pass. Of course, minus the chance Osimhen missed.

For me, sub out Samuel Chukwueze for Kelechi Iheanacho.
This is because Iwobi is sitting. There’s an advantage to this – he is organizing the midfield with fluid passes. However, sitting deep means Iwobi incisive passes will be missed. And that’s where Iheanacho comes in.
He is good with playmaking but still a seasoned goal scorer.

I also believe if we want to score goals then we need to ease the scoring pressure from Osimhen. Again, that’s where Iheanacho comes in.

So far, Sanusi has been giving me dual feelings.

I believe we can still win this match – only if we do not lose concentration and focus when defending.

      God bless Super Eagles!

I think coach Paseiro got it right this time around tactically. However, is left to the players to convert the chances and not to also to lose concentration. This is a game we should win.

Even if we somehow lose this game, we should still be able to handle GB.
Then anything can happen in the next round.
But if we convert our chances, I don’t see us losing.

Osimhen missing with the head again, missing chances like Aiyegbeni. You score tight one than this at your club. I hope you improve oh, if not, your ranking in eagles shirt should depreciate quickly.

Lol. Anyways it is 343 and not 532 formation. I have always 343 since conte era at Chelsea. My only worry is that it makes iwobi, the only creative player in the team to sit too deep.

Ekong was a general. Leading team to a battle field with a commanding performance.

However, osimhen is feeling the heat. Knowing he is carrying the aspiration of 200 millions Nigeria

These guys were 11/10 today – Aina, Bassey, Osimhen, Lookman, Nwabali, Ekong, Iwobi, Chukwueze, Ajayi, Sanusi. Everybody was perfect. Everyone brought their A-game to the field today. No one allowed any room for error. They all 100% interpreted the coach’s tactics, which was on point for the opponent.

The confidence booster that we direly needed. The SuperEagles have just send a signal to the rest of Africa that we’re here to stay. Beating the host and one of the favorites is not an easy thing to do under pressure. The tactics today from Peseiro was masterclass. The Ivorians thought it was Uzoho that is in goal they were just shooting from everywhere, but they met a rock in between the SuperEagles goal. Abeg let’s leave the coach alone to do his job. Any team that will knock out this SuperEagles must be prepared for a tough challenge and bruises.

I can’t but laugh at some comments in this game. Their was absolutely nothing fantastic about this game. We won out of luck. The defenders won you this game for us. Attack to midfield was zero. what was iwobi and onyeka’s imapct in this game. You paraded kids upfront who couldn’t attack. Imagine chukwueze can’t control ball, selfish to pass, You brought in an headless Osayi, who couldn’t control ball. I thought someone here said ball controlling wasn’t the coaches job. Oya come out and say something. What are the organizers smoking giving oshimen MOM, abi whicg game were they watching. Aina, Bassey, Ekong were man of the match.

I once wrote Peserio will ditch 343 formation after guinea schooled eagles. He used it today.

I also had written that he’d hopefully make early substitutions this time around. He’s stuck to late ones.

I also wrote he’d never drop Uzoho since he had his mumu button but nwabali had embraced number one.

Please, Peserio against Guinea bissau, start off again with iwobi and Chukweze as they were mesmerizing today.

Iwobi bossed the midfield and Chukweze dominated the right flank. Oh, and Sanusi who often went forward with pinpointed crosses.

Can Uzoho start the third game? Please do.

Hopefully Peserio does the opposite of my desire since he’s been going contrarily to some of my views.

Ehem, Osimhen as long striker has worked in 2 matches so far lol.

Who wrote earlier today’s performance was superb?

Don’t encourage this rubbish from this 600 billion naira squad. Putting pressure on defense because midfield was ball watching.

Consequences of carrying 500 strikers and 5 midfielders. Defence will continue to be tortured.

One big team will so disgrace this squad in the knockout round because defenders will see too much pressure and penalties will settle that game since strikers are still profligates

@collins you must have watched another game to just rubbish the victory we had today . How come ivory didn’t win out of luck . People like you wanted us to lose so that NFF can fire the coach forgetting that this is our country . Today’s game showed Peserio listened to public opinion or let me see he kept his tactics close to his chest all these while . Another thing i noticed is when Nigeria respect their opponent it becomes difficult to beat them . The whole team was focused all through the game.
However both Chukwu and Osayi were both stupid for being selfish otherwise we could have won by 3 nil .

Everyone is entitled to his opinion but name calling on who disagrees with yours is a low and is needless. Fool? Because of the anonymity of CS? It is fine you don’t share his views. CIV just deported an Algerian for “shitholing” their country when Afcon is for accommodating different cultures. We agree to disagree.

A diamond is only known after it is viewed from all sides or angles.

Eagles will always play more matches so temporary “euphoria” from sharing your opinions is not what makes football game.

Osimhen just got MOTM award for playing what exactly? You might like him but that award is just like what Messi won a few days ago. Poster boy.

I bet you’d disagree if he is your real guy but no dey curse who disagree with yours.

Osimhen won the crucial penalty for us. He was a turn in the flesh of the Ivorian defenders all game. Go and rewatch the match again with an unbiased mindset you will see that he was the main reason we won the game today. Yes there’s  need for improvement but we played overall better today with a tactical masterclass that is now our bread and butter.
