I love how Akor Adams suppresses his urge to score by feeding Osihmen and playing the more withdrawn role. Should he continue this way, his partnership with Osihmen will be sealed.

Arokodare’s desire to be a co-equal goal scorer with Osihmen appears to have relegated him to the bench despite coming onto the scene earlier than Akor.

Statistics suggests that Moses Simon provides more assists than Lookman but Lookman is undeniable the more higher profile player. Chukwueze’s rockstar performance in the last match meant benching him for Simon on the right would be the height of stupidity.

People complain that Iwobi is poorly utilised by being played dep beside Ndidi. But these critics fail to see that Ndidi and Iwobi have formed a formidable partnership in midfield.

Fredricks will have to exhibit maturity way beyond his years today with Bassey hopefully curbing his propensity for errors.

Sanusi and Osayi-Samuel are experienced fullbacks with the latter more effective offensively.

Where is Amas Obasoki?? I ask you.

I noted this here and even on twitter but nobody else seemed to mind – not even the NFF – Imagine if we had a normal Football Federation like oher countries, do you think they would not at least have raised a complaint about this to FIFA – close your eyes and imagine somebody trying that rubbish with South Africa or Egypt or Algeria or Morocco or even Ghana self, you think their Football Federation will not raise a complaint about such a thing at the very very least?? Nigeria and it’s officials are anomalies, they are not humans, they are like aliens – they do not give a flying f**k about Nigeria or Nigerians (whatever that means these days self).
        Tears for Nigeria!!

Will 9ja rue all diz missed chances. We have fluffed several goalscoring opprtunities to be honest. I really hope we don’t end up paying dearly fir d missed chances. I sincerely hope not as 9ja has bn on d front foot for d entire duration of d 1st half so far. I hope we get a goal 1st in dis game. Gabon is looking for a mash and grab. Dia goalie has been outstanding so far.

I think Simon should be brought in for Adams and allow lookman to play close to Osihmen. Iwobi is lost in diz game i swear, he keeps losing passes cheaply and contributes little or nothing defensively. I would take him off and bring in Onyedika or Onyeka to help shore up dat midfield. Just a thought

This is the best game of the Eagles I have seen in a while. Though, we have missed a couple of chances, I think we have been the better side. We just need to be more clinical in front of goal.

Nwabali is misbehaving. It is strange that no one has addressed his misbehaviors with the ball. What’s all the pressure he is causing back there and our players should learn to forward play enough of the back pass.

Osimhen repeating what he did against Ghana in the last WCQ playoff. He need to be calm in front of goal. Pick a spot and be clinical and accurate as much as possible. If Auba get all this 1 vs 1 with goalkeeper, just go and pick the ball in the net

Where did we get this coach who doesn’t know how to lock shop when it’s critical….?

It’s bad enough that the performance is crap….but it’s worse that even when providence gifted us a goal, we have a coach who cannot see that our full backs are deficiency and need double teaming on our opponents wingers.

I hope we can keep this lead now till the of the game.

Good luck to Nigerians thinking they have a coach.

If we get past the qfinals of AFCON with this coach, I’ll not comment on this forum till the world cup.

Coach biko bring in Onyedika for Iwobi and push Ndidi up front biko. He has more initiative than Iwobi. Leave Onyedika and Onyeka as DM abeg Eric Chelle. Or even bring awaziem for Osayi Samuel if u wan still keep Iwobi ejoor. Shore up defense. Hold wetin u get to avoid d story dat touches d heart. Just a thought sha.

The guy is from a different planet. 10 gbpza for u Osihmen. U don show Aubameyang who be true striker. Kudos to Frederick as him pocket Aubameyang. He was completely annonymous in dis game. 5 star performance for d entire team but improvement still needs to be made, some sloppy passes from Iwobi needs to be cyrtailed but overall, a gr8 performance by 9ja

Leipzig they craze, I’m sure this boy will play LB comfortably as well, what a discovery but it seems we Nt given sanusi his flower, it’s not a coincidence that our defense has improved since his return from injury.

Sanusi is a great player, his absence in the early stages of the qualifier was visible. We’re fortunate to have him back.
A team like fc Porto won’t retain you for several seasons if you haven’t got quality. He sure has!

I’ll gladly take the win over the performance.

Let’s just get to the World Cup for the sake of these players……especially Victor Osimhen.

The last time we had a player carrying the entire team on his back like this was Jay Jay Okocha circa 2004.

WC qualification will be a fitting reward to the boy.

It goes without saying, Osimen is world class.
But I dare say, without mincing words, Benjamin Fredericks is world class. We are blessed to have him.

And please, can we all put some respect on Ndidi’s name. Top player. Experience never gets old.

Congrats to the Super Eagles and all Nigerians. Tough but we got the job done. Now we wait for Sunday. Hopefully, we finish the continental job then.

We will beat Congo on Sunday. Their quality of play against Cameroon is average and it will be unfortunate for such team to represent Africa at the World Cup. I watched the match because i wanted to see the quality of both teams but i was really disappointed. Although whenever these other African teams are playing against us they always tend to raise their game and approach it differently. However if they play against Nigeria same way they did yesterday , them go collect wotowoto. Africa deserve a better representative and Nigeria Super Eagles can represent AFRICA better. I just pray our boys and the Coach bring their A Game to play against Congo and they will be beaten mercilessly. NFF corrupt criminals pay the boys their money. I heard Samuel Chukwueze in a video Iwobi posted saying that they should bring their money
