Nigerian-born British heavyweight contender Lawrence Okolie has disclosed that his fight in Nigeria will attract more British boxers to fight in Nigeria.
He is scheduled to face Ghanaian boxer Ebenezer Tetteh on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Detty December Festival Grounds.
Okolie, 33, was born in London to Nigerian parents and has previously held the WBO cruiserweight title and the WBC bridgerweight crown before moving up to the heavyweight division.

In a chat with BBC Sports Africa, Okolie stated that he’s really eager to fight Tetteh in Nigeria.
“They’re going to see me headline the show over there and then they’re going to have the fear of missing out and come running over to do it as well,” the 33-year-old told BBC Sport Africa.
“I’m really looking forward to my fight there.”
