Former tennis star Greg Rusedski believes Novak Djokovic should make a bold scheduling call and skip Roland Garros this spring.
The veteran dethroned Jannik Sinner in the semi-final before falling to Carlos Alcaraz in the title clash from a set up.
While he remains a threat at the most notable events, Rusedski does not like Djokovic’s chances on the physically brutal Paris clay a couple of days after turning 39.

“If you are a Novak fan, there’s a lot of hope. He has improved his game and enjoyed two great weeks. His serve needed to be slightly better against Carlos, even though he served very well. The forehand is definitely better,” Rusedski told Tennis World.
Sometimes the volley selection is not right. He always likes to go cross-court with that backhand volley instead of punching it up the line. Imagine if he plays this well at Wimbledon. He has a real shot at the title.
“Because of the physicality, I believe Roland Garros is out of his grasp. I would not be surprised if he skips Roland Garros and attacks the Wimbledon crown,” Greg Rusedski said.
