On 3rd July 2025, the entire sporting world was struck with the sad news of former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai. Born on August 24, 1963, in Lagos, Rufai’s decision to pursue the game of football has had an indelible impact on Nigerian football history. From a young age, he demonstrated a natural talent for the game, particularly in goalkeeping, a position he would go on to master and which would define his entire career.
