Nigerian music star Davido, born David Adeleke, lost a ₦75 million bet after the Super Eagles were knocked out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final by Morocco.
Recall that the singer had shared a betting slip on his X (formerly Twitter) account, revealing a $50,000 wager on Nigeria to defeat Morocco, with an additional prediction that both teams will score at least one goal.
However, both predictions failed to materialize, as the encounter ended goalless after 120 minutes, only for the Super Eagles to lose 4-2 on a penalty shootout.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time the DMW Records boss has backed the Super Eagles with a high-stakes wager.
The singer reportedly earned a payout of $96,564 (about ₦150m) earlier in the tournament after correctly predicting the outcome of Nigeria’s opening Group C match against Tanzania in Fes, Morocco.
Davido had staked a wager that both teams would score in the fixture, a prediction that paid off.
