The Anambra State Football Association (ANSFA) Executive Committee has affirmed Mr. Raphael Nweke as the substantive Secretary of the Association while also approving February 6, 2026, as the date for its Annual General Meeting (AGM), Completesports.com reports.
These resolutions were among key decisions taken at the Association’s first full Executive Committee meeting of the new board, held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the ANSFA Secretariat, Awka.

The information was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting by the Communiqué Drafting Committee of the Anambra State Football Association, chaired by Ralph Chidozie George, with Raphael Nweke serving as Secretary, and Johnson Ifechikwulu and Michael Mbaezue as members.
ANSFA Board Holds First Full Meeting After By-Election
The meeting marked the first full sitting of the Executive Committee following the board’s by-election conducted on January 15, 2026, at East End Hotel, Awka.

During the session, the board formally welcomed newly elected members — Chief Ifejika Johnson, Prince Michael Mbaezue, Ezeokafor Donatus, and Pastor Ijeoma Nwosu — to their maiden Executive Committee meeting.
The board also acknowledged the successful conduct of the Local Football Council (LFC) elections across the state.
ANSFA Confirms Ralph Nweke As Substantive FA Secretary.
A major highlight of the meeting was the confirmation of Mr. Raphael Nweke as the substantive Secretary of the Anambra State Football Association.
Nweke had been serving in an acting capacity since March 27, 2024, and the board unanimously resolved to formalise his appointment, citing continuity and administrative stability.
Standing Committees Dissolved, Electoral/Appeals Bodies Retained
As part of its restructuring efforts, the Executive Committee dissolved all existing ANSFA standing committees, with the exception of the Electoral and Appeals Committees.

The board disclosed that new standing committees would be constituted in due course to align with its administrative and developmental objectives.

The board also expressed concern over the proliferation of unauthorised football competitions across various communities in Anambra State, pledging to take appropriate steps to regulate football activities within its jurisdiction.
ANSFA Approves February 6 AGM, Passes Confidence Vote On Iloenyosi
The Executive Committee approved Friday, February 6, 2026, as the date for the ANSFA Annual General Meeting, scheduled to hold at East End Hotel, Awka, by 11:00am.
In addition, the board unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association, Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi, reaffirming its support for his leadership.

The board also commended the Executive Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, for the inclusion of football activities in the recent Onwa Dezemba yuletide celebrations.
