It was a game to forget for Nigeria’s U-19 women’s team as they suffered a humiliating 113 – 42 defeat to Canada in their second Group B game at the World Cup on Sunday.
Nigeria went into the fixture on the back of a 93 – 88 points win against China on Saturday.
Canada bossed every quarters of the game to record their second group stage win. They opened their campaign with 88 – 49 scoreline win against Portugal.
In the first quarter Canada overwhelmed the Nigerian side 23 – 5, took the second quarter 62 – 16, and also emerged tops in the third quarter by 85 – 32.
Nigeria would have to put the disappointing defeat behind them and hope to return to winning ways against Portugal on Tuesday, July 15.
In Sunday’s other encounter Portugal edged out China 75 – 52.
