Former Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Osigwe has been unveiled as the Technical Director of FC Ona Pal, a Nationwide League One (NLO) side based in Umuahia, Abia State, Completesports.com reports.
Osigwe, a former Enugu Rangers forward, remains popular among Nigerian football fans following his goal of extraordinary quality against Czechoslovakia during the 1980 Summer Olympics.
Before his latest appointment, he was part of Kun Khalifat’s technical crew during their 2025/2026 NPFL campaign before stepping down from his role in December 2025.

The unveiling ceremony took place in Umuahia on Tuesday, 3 February 2026.
Osigwe’s Appointment Signals New Era For FC Ona Pal
Engr. Obinna Paul Peter, President of the club, performed the unveiling ceremony, stating that Osigwe’s arrival marks a significant chapter in the club’s drive for excellence and professionalism.
“The decision also signals a new era of ambition, structure and professional growth for the fast-rising football outfit,” the club stated.
Osigwe’s Coaching Pedigree And International Exposure
“Coach Osigwe is not new to the big stage. A CAF-B Coaching Licence holder, the experienced tactician with international exposure was Assistant Coach to Musa Abdullahi in the National U-17 Team, Golden Eaglets, during the 2001 FIFA U-17 World Cup finals in Trinidad and Tobago.”

Osigwe also had a coaching spell at Heartland F.C. before recently working with Kun Khalifat FC, Owerri.
Technical Direction For FC Ona Pal As NLO Season Beckons
In his new role, Coach Osigwe will oversee the club’s football philosophy, youth development programmes, tactical structure, scouting framework and overall technical direction of the team.
The Nationwide League One is expected to kick off on 10 April 2026.
