Please and please, don’t let Osimhen play full 90 minutes o. He must not take the second yellow card you know what I mean.
Not sure why Chelle is playing Osimhen considering he has a yellow card and can also potentially cop an injury. This isn’t very wise of him to be honest. I know Osimhen would’ve insisted on playing today so he cam add to his tally but as a coach u have to manage him properly. Without Osimhen in d team, the SE is weak and dats d honest truth. Games like dis, u wrap him in cotton and wait fir the round of 16. Chelle na wa to u ooo. I’m one of ur biggest fans but diz wan no mek sense at all oga. U for use an entirely new team so as enable each player get a few of d competion. U only have 5 changes to make oga. I dey para ooo. If an injury hapoens to VO9, we might as well pack our bags and return home, so why risk ur talisman for crying out loud. I understand continuity but oga dis wan no mek sense, u have almost a week to rest. I just hope and pray VO9 doesn’t get anoda yellow card ir cop an injury.
We should trust our coach and believe in the process.
This ref is crazy, why give Bassey a yellow card for an infringement that his not his fault
Onuachu scores for 9ja after missing a glorious pass from Osimhen
Feed Paulo and he will score. Nice one.
goooallllllllll paulooooooo
Offer Onuachu the ball and he will score. I never subscribed to the view of Onuachu being a total waste of space in Super Eagles colours.
Also, glad to see my Uzoho back to his rightful place. He has shown much composure.
Well done to Onuachu and Uzoho. Rejected stones are stoning rejection with pebbles of acceptance.
You beat me to that observation abt uzoho @deo, yes not much stuff to don yet but his distribution and calmness has been something of a new calamity uzoho that we knew.
See me watching SE with calmness, aleboosu has potential but he shd not overdo things.
Hahahahaha………With the way you have been playing SAN for Chelle and trying to make a deity out of him all this time, one would think you have been sipping yoyo bitters while watching the SE……..LMAOoo.
I really dont understand why people will rather prefer to suffer in silence and put up a brave face outside while denying the obvious……..LMAOoooo
Onuachu and Osihmen are forming a formidable partnership.
Finished, Simon is not finished. He just left 3 defenders up the creek without a paddle.
Alebiosu is proving to be a threat offensive.
Onyedika is cool, calm and ….
What about the one he missed early before he finally scores. you are part of the problem
The goalkeeper pulled off a wonderful pointblank save to keep Onuachu out on that occasion. Osihmen and Onuachu linked up well for that chance.
The guy hasn’t really been tested yet. The first real chance the opponents had, they scored. Can we please hold on before we start praising him?
This is exactly how you guys destroyed Okoye because of one mistake in the last AFCON. Now I’m sure people will start saying Uzoho is better than Okoye.
This is just my opinion as a real fan. Like I said, the guy hasn’t been properly tested. We haven’t seen how he performs under real pressure. Let’s wait until he faces a strong team before we make conclusions.
Bassey vs Ikpeazu.
Clash of the titans!
With Alebiosu’s performance so far, Chelle has a selection headache. Coaches love problems like this.
Thanks, I can tell you’re really following the match
I think Osimhen should be subbed our now. We can’t afford to risk him getting injured.
Bashiru is driving forward very well from the midfield. Alongside Onyedika, the midfield seems to be in good hands.
Osimhen with the captain band while Moses Simon is on the pitch? Thought Nigeria captain is by longevity with the team?
Chelle, Chelle , Chelle…how many times I call you? Make sure nothing happen to VO in this game, I’m one of ur fav. But this ur decision starting him is dumb as F, even if he insisted he wanna play, u are the coach and u shd know better.
So far, my BP has been stable with Chief Uzoho in goal. Although he is yet to be seriously tested.
What a pass from Chuks.
And out goes the Uganda reserve goalie after handling the ball outside his box to stop Osimhen”sgoal bound effort. They are down to 10 men.
And just Ias I praise Chuks, he makes a total mess of a freekick.
Onyedika makes it 2 to 9ja albeit Uganda are down 1 man
Lovely assist from Chuks to Onyedika. Goal number 2!
As we approach the end of the game, ice cold water should be ready to pour on Chelle’s head. It tends to start overheating at this time, which is why he makes strange subs, loool!
If a goalkeeper, outside the 18 yard box, makes an illegal interception, an illegal interception will mar him. Great long ball from Chukwueze, Osihmen, great pressure on the goalkeeper and defender to force the foul.
Onyedika makes it 3 nil for 9ja. He now has a brace. Well worked out team goal by 9ja
Onyedika for golden boot?
His 2nd goal of the game.
Hahaha! Nice one.
Chuks the assist master doing it again.
Onyedika has a knack for the spectacular: 2-0. If he continues this way, he might make a case to be ahead of Frank Onyeka in the pecking order of centre attacking midfielders. Mind you, Onyeka himself is not a slouch in front of goal.
Maybe you meant to say ahead of Ndidi in the pecking order of defensive midfielders.
This boy walks into this team yesterday and already has 3 goals from a DM position, whereas it took 10 whole years for somebody’s “best SE midfielder” to get his debut goal.
To think Ralph hasn’t even had 20 caps yet, commands a respectable 4 goal contribution from defensive midfield position, and is still wasted on the bench for “seniority’s sake” is the hallmark of unfair cronyism.
It is slowly becoming the Onyedika show. Another pass from Chukwueze another goal from Onyedika, why not pair this bunch more often?
To think Onyedika was not considered one of Chelle’s favourites. Is that going to change?
This is meant to be the Super Eagles’ largely fringe players! Fringe by name, fantastic by nature.
The team A players on the bench must be a bit nervous. The team B players are playing so well.
Chelle is spoilt for choice.
10 man Uganda pulls one back. It now 3:1. Nice one Chelle for bronging in Nnadi, we need to see Akinsanmiro next pls
The Super Eagles make it seem like a stroll along Tafawa Balewa Square. They are playing at a low gear with high propulsion.
Good subs by Chelle.
Give Nnadi a run,, and let Sanusi get back his confidence.
It party won’t be complete without Chelle’s Super Eagles conceding a late goal – his side’s regular trademark.
Communication breakdown between the centre back pairing of Awaziem and Ogbu, underscoring their embryonic relationship.
Salim Fago Lawal should also have been introduced. That lad could have given Ugandan defence much headache.
Who has pushed for promotion from Division One bench to the Premier League of starting 11?
– Onyedika. Yes
– Alebiosu. Not yet.
– Onuachu. Not quite.
– Ogbu. No.
– Awaziem. No.
Uzoho. What do you think?
Onyedika, Onyeka, and Iwobi in front of them in the middle.
Ndidi can come in around the 75th minute, as he often gasses out towards the end of the game, and opponents whizz past him with ease to the goal while he simply jogs alongside them rather than tackling.
Not everyone is a 90-minute player, and that’s perfectly understandable.
Really wish we made it to the WC sha, Chelle seems to have gotten the best formula to make this boys work and I see more improvement going into the knockout stage, nobody shd tell me not to praise the team for playing fantastic games so far oooo, my slogan is to praise when due and castigate when necessary.
Also I’m elated to see the goals distribution among the players and not the usual VO dependent, 8 goals so far and VO with 1 but dude has been vital to all 3 games played so far.
Let’s keep the momentum guys as the real competition start now.
Please tell coachy Chelle to bench ndidi play onyeka onyedika and iwobi in the middle
I had said dat Tunisia was ordinary and dat if Tanzania played dem thesame way they played us, it would be extremely difficult for Tunisia to beat dem. Ref manufactured penalty is what saved dem today. They could’ve lost d match today but the game ended 1:1. Work done for 9ja, matured performance. Glad VO0 came out unscathed. Onyedika showed his versatility. Bashiru did a yeoman job. Chukwueze was electric most of d game with d exception of a few wayward freekicks. VO9 is our talisman, his presence alone puts fear on defenders. Ryan showed hunger today, bombing forward at every opportunity. Great game from d team but diz always conceding is a problem ooo. U can’t be conceding wen u r 1 man up, diz issue needs addressing sharp. In the round of 16, goals might be hard to come by and if a team scores u 1, dat might be all she wrote.
Good point
Hmm… Nice to see a mature version of Osimhen calming the nerves of his teammates and opposing players, rather than being the one getting temperamental. No doubt, handing people new responsibilities like the captainship band does make them responsible and cool-headed. I was already wondering why Osimhen would be captain with Simon on the pitch, but if this was the only takeaway, then fine.
I was hoping to see Dessers and Akinsamiro also do at least 10 minutes. As it is, bothmay never kick a ball in this tournament.
And Chelle, when is the SE going to end a game without conceding under you? Can’t remember the last time we won a game X-0.
So, 3 wins out of 3 and maximum points of 9. Perfect result, but I can’t help casting my mind back to 2021 when we also had a perfect 9 points from a possible 9, beating Egypt, Sudan, and Equatorial Guinea, but losing at R16 to Tunisia, who qualified as one of the best 3rd-placed teams at the group stage.
Lol, Tunisia benefitting from ref’s manufaring penalties up and down. The ref in their game against us practically pulled the penalty out of his rear end.
Big congrats to Tanzania for holding it down against a higher ranked opponent.
Really happy for this results.
Good on Chelle is learning and improving, with every game, he’s getting to understand his players best positions. Good to see him playing Fisayo in the middle alongside Onyedika . He has always played the Lazio man on the wings which was a disservice.
I hope we keep the same energy going forward . Take every game seriously and keep improving. Winning this cup is possible.
Congrats to all fans to a perfect group standing.
Now the war begins.
This team is really improving.
But… Dessers should have featured in this game. If he can play well against Ghana and Jamaica, why not Uganda?
Uzoho and Okoye were once the best we had before their Calamities. Maybe we should revisit Match against Russia away to see what Okoye can do . I know with time, some players will take back their rightful spots.
Please tell coachy Chelle to bench ndidi play onyeka onyedika and iwobi in the middle
